This hotel is very basic. Threadbare towels. Only given 1 hand towel between 3 people. No bathmat. Shower gel dispenser doesn't work. Only 30 mins of free internet within 24 hours (not per day as listed). Cold air coming from the window. No sound proofing on windows. Location is good for easy access to the city. Staff were friendly.

The hotel was clean, only a 10-minute walk from the city center, but the breakfast was a joke! The website showed a picture of an English breakfast, but when we arrived in the morning, we were given a box. It contained nonsense like oatmeal, milk, and water. Had I known, we would have had breakfast at another restaurant and wouldn't have paid extra for the hotel breakfast. No decent reception room, no breakfast room, only 'breakfast in a box', but very basic. No toilet brush, no cup to put your toothbrush in, no hairdryer. No separate 'towel' to put on the bathroom floor. No place to leave your luggage for a couple of hours. All this is not mentioned on the website!

Free wifi available only for 30 min per day. Room was spacious but room cleaning service was not up to mark. No breakfast buffet option. They provide packed boxes though. No Car parking and no luggage room available. So if one is travelling with light baggage and is travelling mostly solo or friends, then one can book this hotel.

We stayed there for 3 days and unfortunately the room was not clean as expected. There were hairs on the floor from the previous stay, one towel was dirty. I guess they dont vacuum the toilet. And also, there is no wifii which is unusual, why do i have to pay for wifii? But the location is great and receptionists are friendly.

Great budget hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely clean room, likewise the bed and shower room. Great bottomless breakfast. Glad we stayed. Would definitely stay again. Staff help give the whole weekend a great vibe. The city is bustling, with exceptional shopping, fantastic pubs and restaurants. Staying here right in the centre of it all, is a must.

Nice and clean! Me and my family were in other Travellodges before but none of them were as clean as this one. All you need when you sleep in a hotel. Very good location and nice places just round the corner to go f.ex. for a breakfast in the morning. Only downside is a Wi-Fi. Not expensive (£3 for 24/h) but you would expect something like this included in the price. And cause of a very poor signal in the hotel we had no other choice than buy it.

The value of this place is great. Staff are welcoming and provide great customer service. You pay for what you get. It’s clean, and hair dryer offered upon arrival. The location is good with close proximity to bars, restaurants and the train station.

Pro's - Nice affordable hotel locates minutes walking from Central attractions. Con's - No mobile data reception in this hotel, and on top of this, the WI-FI provided by the hotel for which I paid has a very low speed and can barely do something online. Travelodge please sort out a better and faster Internet WiFi connection.

We booked this Travelodge as it was supposed to be refurbished. I could not see signs of this. The staff were good but it must be the worst travelodge we have stopped in. Toe nail clippings in room by bed not cleaned up. As soon as we reported it, they sorted it promptly. The rooms were very cold and the curtains were such a poor fit. Small heater in room didn't do the job. No bar or restaurant, but we did know this before. There are plenty of restaurants about and location is good.

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights. It was a great location to see the sights of Edinburgh and beyond. The room was spotless and the beds were very comfy. The service was fab and our tea sachets and towels were replaced whenever we asked. Alan at the front desk was a ray of sunshine. Overall, it was a great base for our stay.
