Booked for an early evening meal here. We were very impressed and would not hesitate to rebook if we were in the area. Cosy place, nice decor excellent customer service throughout. We picked our mains but wanted to swap our veg that came with it. The lady bent over backwards to work something out for us, gave my husband gravy instead of the sauce that came with it. Nothing too much trouble. Had chowder, tom soup, chicken and leek pie, pork ribs. All excellent quality. Average prices for type of food. Only negative was no real ale at the bar. No dark beers. Bar staff allowed us to try before buying. A nice touch.

We used the Horseshoe for an overnight stop on the way home south and were very impressed. Lovely clean room with a 6ft bed, just the ticket after 2 weeks in a Motorhome. Evening meal was very good and we were made very welcome and we had an excellent Scottish breakfast next morning to see us on our way home. Dog friendly too. Just be aware the accommodation block is across the car park from the main building. Very reasonably priced.

We came here without a booking for an evening meal. We had seen the previous good reviews and were hopeful and we were not disappointed! The food was tasty and fresh, probably the best seabass I've had out. The service was quick and friendly and prices very reasonable. Would definitely come back!

A very beautiful and quaint restaurant with amazing customer service served with a smile. Very dog friendly too and Poppy Dog got treats and plenty of friendly pats. Everything was lovely, the food, the decor and even the toilets. The food was amazing and well presented, so thanks to the Chef and a wee walk around the beautiful village to finish it off. A beautiful place to go to.

Ate in the restaurant as non-residents. We were greeted immediately and shown straight to our table where we were offered water and then promptly served our chosen drinks. The menu was great with multiple options - seemed like there would be something for everyone on there. We both had starters and mains but were unfortunately too full to attempt a pudding. The food was all very fresh and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and polite. The decor was very nice throughout and the toilets were clean. Also nice to see details such as fresh flowers on the table. Would absolutely eat at The Horseshoe Inn again if we're back in the area.

We have just had our first visit to the Horseshoe Inn and we will definately come back. The Sunday dinners were great, food quality excellent, desserts delicious, coffee and tea hot, service friendly, helpful and efficient. Lovely relaxed pub atmosphere with very good range of drinks. The inn is dog friendly and all the dogs were well behaved and unobtrusive. We really had a lovely time. Thank you :)

Wow I thought I had hit the Jackpot, what a amazing place how could one little hotel hold so much character. My Hart drop as the receptionist said we had no booking in your name. It was an impromptu trip I had booked 1 twin room and 1 double room the night before both at £85 each. It was late evening and very rural I was so relieved when he said hey had Vacancies it was alot more expensive but I paid £230 this was £70 more that expected. The twin room was the same price My room was so small it was lucky I was on my own it would of been a real struggle for2 people to sleep in the bed. I will say he rooms were decorated beautifully and the beds extremely comfortable. We went to the bar to wait for my Step son who was driving to meet up from Ayr we waited as long as we could with the Kitchen closing at 8pm we could not wait any longer so we were shown into the dining area. After a couple of Minutes we weer told that they needed the table I thought this was strange as it really was busy I was to tired after a 7 hour drive to question this, so we ate our dinner in the bar. This itself was not a problem but left us all wondering why we were not allowed in the dining area Maybe it was the way we were dressed, was it because we were English, or the mental health of my nephew or was it because of his Indian heritage. This still doesn’t sit right with me and ruined what would of been a really pleasant stay. As a business owner myself I would not dream of making my customers feel so unwanted .

Delicious pork belly, the red cabbage also deserves a shout out as it was lovely. The whole meal was delicious. I didn't feel hugely welcomed, most staff were pleasant enough, just didn't feel like I was particularly wanted there, however the food was so nice I'm still rating a 5. The food is on the pricier side but very much worth it
