Dene Guest House was wonderful. Besides the place being immaculate, Hamish and his amazing Spanish wife were extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed the quiet and tranquility of the neighborhood. The shared bathroom was never a problem - we almost never had to wait. As budget travelers, we highly appreciated the free cereal, coffee and fridge available to us. Would definitely return.

We had a lovely stay at the Dene Guest House. We took the room on the second floor where we had a nice view and a cooling breeze coming through the room. We stayed for a couple of nights. Hamish, our host, was kind enough to leave a nice selection of breakfast cereals for the days that we had to run out quickly. He also made the check in process painless and convenient given that we arrived at 3 am. As far as the room itself, my fiance' had no trouble sleeping in the queen-sized bed, but the sheets had a slight smell to them. The shower was immaculate. Like a fire hose! We also loved the decor and the surrounding neighborhood. Very cozy.

Best place I've been hosted at for a long time. Feeling like at home, delicious meals, neat rooms. Placed close enough to historic center of the city. The only thing -- bathrooms are shared, you should be ready for this)

Very well equipped and maintained, excellent breakfast and Friendly, helpful staff. While some rooms have an ensuite, ours did not. Sharing a bathroom, after many years was a bit weird, although there is a washbasin in the bedroom. It is a 1/4 mile up hill walk to the edge of the city centre, and up to mile away from many fringe venues. But there is very frequent and cheap bus service to within a couple minutes walk away.

I really enjoyed my stay at Dene guest house for a few nights. A small, quaint B&B in a typical Edinburgh New Town house. Simone and Jean-Pierre and the rest of the staff made me feel much welcomed. The single room was small and the shared bathroom is in the hallway but that was no issue at all, everything was great for my kind of stay. Breakfast was plentiful and offered good variety. Though it's less than a mile into Princess street it's a long hill to walk up into town so need to be prepared for that - or take the bus that runs just around the corner.

We stayed two nights and it was just excellent. The landlord has an excellent welcome attitude and the breakfast and room were really nice. I stayed in a four star hotel in Glasgow before for a conference and I have to acknowledge that the common bathroom here was even more comfortable than in the four star hotel. There were towels, shampoo and tooth paste. So in brief, just excellent and highly recommended. Also regarding location! Best regards!
