Walked in not knowing what we wanted, and came away with two amazing tattoos by Russell. Russell and Maxx were absolutely amazing! So accommodating and had great banter. It was an absolutely fantastic experience. My fiancée, my best friend, and I visited Plus48Tattoo to get tattoos to celebrate our first visit to the United Kingdom, and it was the perfect choice. The staff there were incredibly friendly, charismatic, and made us feel extremely welcome. Not to mention, their talent is immense. The three tattoos we got turned out spectacular. Without a doubt, when I return to Edinburgh, I will be getting tattooed again by this wonderful team of artists. I am truly grateful and thrilled with the results.
Excellent place! Have been a few times now and been tattooed by Marco. Recommended to friends and family who have also booked in with this studio. Exceptional service, very welcoming and thorough. The atmosphere is lovely and really supportive. All staff interact in a professional manner. Highly recommend to anyone wether it’s your first tattoo or 100th!
I am trying to get tattoos wherever I travel and I was coming into edinburgh for only a short time during the holidays. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to book with anyone, but marco from plus 48 tattoo was available and was super awesome! he worked with what I was wanting, sent me photos ahead of time, and was super accommodating since I was from the states. the tattoo process was easy and casual. the owner of the shop was really nice and awesome as well. they asked us if we wanted anything to drink, if we had any preference for the music that played. he insisted my friend come and sit with me even though it's a pretty cozy place. my plan was just one tattoo, and marco saw my really faded and overpriced tattoo I received in NY from an apprentice and offered to go back over it for me. he did that for both of mine. my friend wanted to get something small done last minute and he was totally on board and able, which made me want another one as well. marco was really, really great! I highly recommend this spot. the owner was also giving us tips and advice for hogmanay and edinburgh in general which was great for us since this was our first time here.
We have had a wonderful experience getting this tattoo by Maxwell- a really lovely business and atmosphere. I can easily say this was the best and friendliest tattoo experience I have had and I would wholeheartedly recommend this business to anyone - we really loved the tattoos!!

Had my second tattoo done by Maxx this afternoon, and I absolutely love it, his attention to detail is second to none! From the moment you walk in to the very cool and quirky Shop you are instantly put at ease, Maxx makes a point of making sure you are happy and calm, before starting you’re tattoo. Top marks from me, I’ve already started thinking of my next one, would highly recommend Plus 48 to anyone interested in getting a tattoo. ☺️
