   The most brilliant place to get tattooed. I first got a tattoo done by the owner Jeff 14 years ago and have gone back to him several times over the years for other large tattoos. Every single time he knocks it out the park and it ends up even better than I initially planned. He has genuine artistry and talent. I went in today for another large tattoo with Jeff and the whole team (Jeff/Meg/Michael/Fi) were incredibly welcoming and with hilarious/engaging conversation. They are also completely professional and with the highest standards of cleanliness etc. Absolutely loved it and the vibes could not have been better. Would recommend to anyone.

   We had the best experience at Black Thorn tattoo! My husband and I decided we wanted to get a small tattoo to remember our trip. I reached out asking the best time for a walk in. Meg reached back out and made the process so simple from start to finish! She got us booked for a time that fit our crazy travel schedule, the day we arrived she was thorough in reviewing the design and giving her advice as an artist, and was the perfect person to be the first to tattoo my husband. We both enjoyed our experiences very much and are in love with our new tattoos! Thank you Meg!

   Absolutely incredible tattoo parlour. Fi has done over 10 of my tattoos and they are extremely talented. They always listen to my ideas and come up with something even better than I imagined! We have lovely chats every time I go and they have always made me feel incredibly comfortable and at ease. Would definitely recommend!

   On the recommendation of a friend, I recently got my first ever tattoo here. I was nervous beforehand, but the whole team was friendly, encouraging, inclusive and professional. The studio has a lovely vibe, I also got chatting to some other people who were coming in for their own tattoos and swapped stories!    Black Thorn is such a sick shop, walked in and they had availability and helped us out right away! JFK and Michael were so helpful in realizing our ideas and their inspiration books had so much amazing art to inspire future tattoos! I showed JFK (Jeff) my idea and he put his own spin on it and created an incredible piece for me. Such an amazing experience, definitely going to be coming back on the next trip to Edinburgh!

   Megan is amazing! I had my first experience at Black Thorn Tattoo on Saturday and I can safely say it’s the friendliest tattoo parlour I’ve ever been to! Megan was extremely accommodating with my designs I’d asked for, I was made very comfortable while being tattooed both physically and mentally. Despite being an apprentice her technique is fantastic and my tattoos are flawless, you can really tell the shop has extremely high standards with their artwork. I have to also add, the person on reception was so friendly and lovely, they’re a real credit to the parlour. My only problem is that I live over 100 miles from Edinburgh! It won’t stop me booking in again ASAP, thank you to everyone!

   I had my very first tattoo done by Natalia and I could not be happier with it! Her design was amazing and captured perfectly the photo I gave as reference. The fine line tattoo is beautiful, I love it and got loads of compliments for it. The experience itself was lovely and in spite of being nervous for my first tattoo I felt completely at ease. I wholeheartedly recommend, and hope to be going back there soon!

   Natalia is so talented and super lovely to collaborate on tattoos with. She took everything I said on board, understood the level of communication I needed and is a very swift, gentle tattooist. My piece meant I was topless and the tattoo stretch over sensitive body parts. But she made me feel so comfortable and covered as much as I needed to be, always explaining what she was about to do and asking consent anytime she needed to be close to intimate areas. The tattoo space is so clean and bright, LGBT+ friendly and felt super safe. I'll be back!

   Got a wonderful tattoo from Natalia back in August. Not only is she super talented and kind but the atmosphere in the studio is great. It’s on street level, so unlike most tattoo studios it has lots of natural light which I found very comfortable. Will hopefully be back in the future.

   An amazing business! All of my sessions have been with Natalia who’s nothing short of perfect making each tattoo feel as exciting as the last and executes it beautifully every time! the other artists always make it feel like a welcoming environment as well with good chat and either an awesome film choice or music playlist to enjoy, brilliant management from both artists and the store manager DJ and good pricing as well a clear and open communication about the whole consultation through to final payment process
