I came in today like a rabbit in headlights, not knowing exactly what I needed and why. Was very generously given a mug of coffee and a lecture on the beautiful vintage stones, gouges, chisels, rasps and axes that they have in store (for reasonable prices). I left with much more than I had planned but feel in much better shape than before I arrived, and the sharpening stone and gouge have worked wonders so far. The man in the shop when I arrived was very friendly and helpful, and Charles (owner) is clearly a bottomless pit of expertise and knowledge on all things wood-related. This is a rare gem of a shop that the world needs many more of. There is an enormous range of all woodworking handtools, as well as smaller bits and pieces. Range of prices depending on condition and quality, and you can pick up some great Β£1 items (drill bits, rasps, files.etc.) Thank you for your time and expertise Charles! I will be back for sure.

I purchased a Yankee screwdriver from this company on eBay, it arrived this morning. Very well packaged and a nice note inside with their business name and link to their website. Unfortunately after visiting their site (which is lovely and contains a lot of information about their company and local details of parking and travel in the area) I couldn’t browse each item they have for sale. But from the pictures of their shop it seems like a real homely, friendly place that you could lose hours of your day with all the tools they have. They also sharpen tools. I unfortunately won’t be able to go to the shop in person anytime soon as I live in Ireland but if I ever find myself near Bristol I will make it a priority to buy some tools there. The Yankee screwdriver I bought has markings that it was made in west Germany. Which means it’s older than me and in far superior condition too. I expected the pop out extension of it to be a little seized or rusted with some gunk on it and expected to spend a little time with wd-40 and some degreaser to sort it out but to my surprise it was in perfect condition. Apart from the logo on the handle being slightly worn you would think it brand new. I’m ecstatic with the condition and the packaging of it and will definitely be on the lookout for anymore tools this business is selling online. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area to pop in and visit them. If I lived near by they would be sick of me in that shop every other day

Went here on a short trip to Bristol and dug through their assortment of hammers for my collection. Don’t forget to bring cash if you intend to buy something. Great service and great conversation.

Just visited this wonderful shop to buy some new carving tools. Amazing selection, fair pricing, very friendly member of staff. If you have any interest in tools for anything from billhooks to drill bits. Come here.

This shop is an absolute treasure chest! I’ve walked past it for the past 5 years wanting to pop but haven’t until today - what a wasted 5 years! There’s such an excellent mixture of old and new tools at great prices and the couple there seem *very* knowledgeable and helpful. I will be back!

my favourite tool shop in Bristol - make that Britain. The majority of the second/third/fourth/fifthhand... tools sold here are over 30 years old. in the future there will not be shops re-selling cheapo ebay tools as they often don’t last longer than 30 days. pay for longevity, take home a little piece of working history.

A wonderful selection of esoteric tools that are worth browsing. A very large selection of wood working tools. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and keen to help but often will be hard work for pognophobes. The tools are good value for good quality but this is not the place if what you want is something that you don't care to keep (this is not B&Q). However, they have sold me a single wing-nut when I was desperate...
