Hotel has a superb location. Our family room was cosy and big and overall very nice. It had 6 fantastic big windows. The rest of the hotel was freezing. The pool area was baltic, inside and outside the water. The sauna didnt work. The jacuzzi had cold water, even the showers were only luke warm. The whole "wellness" area is so terribly shabby and outworn...I would be embarrassed to offer that as a 4 star experience. The breakfast was also dissapointing: no buffet, poor choice of continental options. Cheap bread, sour tasting fruit salad, a few cerials...very sad looking and not 4 star. We had to wait 35 minutes for our cooked breakfast that was tiny. The vegetarian portion consisted of 1 egg, 1 potato scone and a tiny bowl of baked beans. I am sorry but I didn't have a more stingy breakfast for a long time.

This is a hidden gem of a hotel surrounded by beautiful countryside . We were at the party night , stayed over. Arrived early and the place was busy with all age groups enjoying the carnival rides and a queue to visit the Santa theme attraction. This is local history presented in a unique and interesting way.The general manager introduced himself ....pleasant and chatty, taking time.... other hotels should take note....pleasantries are free and mean a lot Our room was available early , clean with a braw view of the Clyde. Family enjoyed the leisure facilities .... The meal was lovely served by very pleasant staff... our sleep waa pleasant waking up to that lovely view in the morning Many thanks for a lovely weekend The Flemings

We enjoyed a lovely overnight pre christmas stay. The place was beautifully decorated for christmas. The menu in the restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast . The breakfast buffet is continental with hot food cooked to order. The staff were polite and friendly. I had a great experience in the spa with the lovely Shelia and we both enjoyed the pool sauna & steam . The only downside was there wasnt a jacuzzi. We will definately be back. Thank you

Hotel was nice, room was spacious and clean. Shower screen didn't fit properly which caused the floor to flood when taking a shower (seal didn't sit on the bath at bottom of screen) Restaurant was nice, food was great and staff friendly. Swimming pool would have been better if I'd been told there was child's swimming lessons going on before going in.

We came for quilt retreat last week. I can honestly say, the staff, the food and the service were outstanding. Nothing was too much bother. The spa was excellent, had a foot and hand massage. Beautifully located. Rooms were very clean, well serviced. I had view of the river.

Amazing rooms, view, food, service, pool & gym. Only slight negative was service times in the restaurant, but it seems the nights i was there was short staffed, so is acceptable. Wished the pool was open a bit later into the evening as it was so nice.

We enjoyed a weekend stay here. The hotel setting is beautiful and historical with easy access to a walking route up the river. Food was good and the hotel was bright and clean. The only let down was the condition of the robes hanging in the room. They looked very dull and shabby and need to be replaced ASAP !

What has happened at New Lanark. We used to visit the cafe every couple of weeks. It was shut during January and when we went in today there was no soup, a few cakes which did not look fresh and some poorly looking paninis. It was just nearing 12 noon so not at the end of the day. While we were there 3 couples, us included and 1 lone visitor came in looked at what was on offer and walked out. 7 customers in 10 minutes leaving is unacceptable. One man who said he was a regular walker will not be back as the car parking fee alone is ridiculous. Are the powers that be trying to shut the place down??? It used to be a vibrant welcoming wee village which was well supported but it’s going to end up a ghost town. We did go to the hotel bar and the lunch and service was great so the stars are for them. The cafe would have been awarded no stars. The trustees or whoever runs this place need sacked now!!! It’s a disgrace.

This hotel has great potential. Great views. Food good. Reception good. Staff good but service in restaurant poor. Could not cope with large numbers, understaffed, staff which were there good but need more dining room staff. No porters on arrival and departure.

Stayed here for 3 nights for a wedding and had a fantastic time. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The wedding went without a hitch, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Everyone had a wonderful time! There's a lovely pool area and all parts of the hotel are very accessible. We had some members of our party with disabilities and it was refreshing to visit somewhere without the usual accessibility issues found in some other hotels. It's located in an absolutely stunning setting, and a walk up to the waterfall is a must! Food in the restaurant was great. Service a little slow but we were all well attended to during our 3 meals. On the final night the staff even let us sit and served us despite arriving a little late after being held up in traffic after a day trip, which we were very grateful for and again, the food was delicious and very good value. Everyone on staff from Thursday 15th September to Monday 19th September deserve credit for their excellent service and friendly attitudes! The cafe is also very good, and the history of the place on display for anyone interested in learning about the industrial past of the buildings. Lots of features from the history are well preserved. Only issue I had personally was that there were a lot of spiders around, which I am not a big fan of, but being so close to the water it's a given that they may invade the buildings. Overall, I would definitely stay again.
