   Cant even do simple silver work or replace a clasp on a chain which is basic was told “our jewellers cant do that” at least could have gave me an alternative or explained why it could not be done. Went to a shop other side of the arcade who where more than happy to replace my clasp on a chain. Would not recommend this place if they cant even do the basics forget about gemstones or anything else. Not a good service and 0 customer service skills.

   Very disappointed with the quality of work and customer service. They managed to change the size of the wrong ring, had gold rings coated silver which came off within a day. Was given an excuse that it is not possible? We should have been told this before taking out money. Spoke to a manager and not very helpful. We never received a refund for the items that they damaged or the coating that didn't work.

   I was recently given a passed down family necklace which was needing repaired being how old as it was. The staff at James Brown were excellent, incredibly helpful and friendly throughout my entire experience. Everywhere else I went, I was told that they would need to send the necklace away for around 2 weeks which I was uncomfortable in doing. The staff helped me from the moment I stepped through the door and had the necklace fixed within the time I was there. I would happily return and recommend them to everyone.

   I recently had my partner's wedding rings resized at here and had a fantastic experience. The staff are absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful, and they never tried to rush or push us into making a decision. They provided great advice and guidance on the resizing process and the result was amazing. The rings are now flawless, and you can't even tell by looking at them that they've been resized. I'm really happy with the quality of the work done here and would definitely come back for any future jewelry needs. Highly recommended!"

   I have always been extremely happy with the service received from James Brown in the past. Have used this workshop for about 10 years for getting pieces made to repairs. However, this last experience has been extremely disappointing. Firstly, I was quoted £65 to shorten a chain...when I emailed and questioned the price, I was told it was a mistake and should have been £20! Awful big mistake! Secondly, I was to be phoned with a quote, and this happened and I was told £120 but then in the shop I was told it was £130!! Again, I questioned it and was told it was another mistake! Thirdly, I had a chain needing a new catch and the one that has been fitted is so difficult to open that I am unable to wear my chain. Unsure if the price discrepancies are genuine mistakes....will not return here after this awful experience.
