Well where do I start we arrived 2 hours early as travelling from the northwest and didn’t want to be arriving in the dark. We had rang an asked was it possible to pay to get the lodge early… as on other sites we had stayed this was available to be told no in our particular lodge. Yes other lodge on site where allowed in at 2pm but we was kept till 3 20pm. So when we finally got the keys to lodge number 16 a 3 bedroom.. first impression was very run down Roman blind where broken and didn’t roll up properly as could seen by the broken string behind and kitchen was very sticky the kicks under cupboards left off and not fitted correctly. Fridge stunk and we found mould in pans in cupboard then the couches were all cracked which didn’t look good. All the windows in lodge where very dirty and black mould around the frames, and to top it off over the patio door in the eaves was an infection of black ladybirds, we spent the next 2 days catching them. When and where was the proper checks for this lodge here?. bathrooms dirty and mouldy with all grout- black with grime. Myself and husband have come home and spend last few days in bed with virus and a bad cough!!. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this lodge and for the price we paid wasn’t cheap either.. very disappointing and want be staying with Darwin Escapes again.

Lovely lodge everything you need. Kids very impressed with WiFi. Bistro on site amazing food and value for money cost online with any pub you go to staff all lovely. 15m drive to bath ( in bath no free parking for disabled and expensive ) Only complaint was did put on booking someone with mobility issue but parking on a slight incline (luckily the person with mobility issues didn't come) so was not a issue in this occasion but could of been. Curtains a bit frayed but no means spoilt the visit. Would def go back.

I stay here a week ago, personally I can't fault the accommodation, very clean, neat and tidy well appointed place. Tvs in Bedrooms as well as lounge area. Ironing board provided. Its a very spacious cabin. Peaceful area and for winter stays, has a great central heating system. The staff were excellent, very pleasant individuals and helpful, and lastly great food. Bus at the end of the entrance takes you Into Bath if no car I think no 5 or 5A

Great location, very peaceful. Stayed in Hartsford waters edge for half term 4 adults and 2 grandchildren. Clean, modern, spacious and very comfortable. Bar and restaurant excellent. Easy access to Bath, would recommend using the park and ride. Looking forward to stay again sometime. This is the 5th location we have stayed at with Darwin and they have all been good.

Had a lovely 3 night stay at Bath Mill lodge. Great location for visiting Bath. We used the park and ride at Newbridge (less than 5 mins away) to save trying to park in the city. The site is well looked after and very peaceful. Lodges are nicely spaced out in a lovely woodland setting next to a river. We stayed in a Pemberly 2 bedroom lodge (via Hoseasons) and it was very clean, spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Everything we could need for a home away from home. Will definitely return again. Staff all very friendly. Didn’t eat in the restaurant but looked very nice. Would recommend the Globe pub down the road which was lovely. Bath is a beautiful city which we really enjoyed for a short break.

Lodge was very nice but being £15 for the worst pie I’ve ever seen was a bit difficult to swallow. It was more like a beef soup with a bit of pastry shoved on top. Manager was very surprised we didn’t like it. Disappointing customer service.

We had such a lovely few days away at this little place. We stayed at the Pemberley Lodge which was very spacious, lots of helpful utilities and cozy. The location may be rural but we enjoyed that as we felt we were far away from the hustle and bustle yet still only being 10 mins drive from the city centre. We would definitely stay again. ⭐️

Lovely lodge. Quiet and peaceful. Staff are very friendly. The only small complaint would be the damp smell from shower room. But nothing else to complain about.

Stayed at Bath Mill Lodge Retreat 3 times, July 2020, December 2021 and December 2022. It’s in a stunning location, very easy access to Bath, Bristol, Wells, etc. As a self-catering destination it’s useful to find a Lidl, M&S Food Hall and Sainsbury’s just 10 minutes away by car. It is worth noting that over the last two years we have noticed a decline in the lodges. Our lodge was missing a two seater sofa that existed previously, the underfloor heating in the bathroom has stopped working, the inbuilt Bluetooth speaker system was not operating, there were water marks in the ceiling from obvious leaks and lights were temperamental, flickering on and off. All this being said, the lodges are of a very high quality, very comfortable and well worth the money. I’ve just noticed the deterioration and hope that maintenance is carried out to restore the luxurious experience previously enjoyed. The location is stunning, the brook running alongside the park offers beautiful views and visits from herons, kingfishers, squirrels, kites and other wildlife visitors. The bar/restaurant has a very cosy feel, we enjoyed a meal there and were pleased with the price and quality. The only downside is the very early 8.30pm bar closing time. We enjoy visiting locations during the day and would welcome a drink in the evening but often found that by the time we’d got back to the lodge, cleaned up and ready for a drink the bar was closed or near closing. We are likely to stay again in the future, as I said previously the price is good and the standard is high.

Can only speak of the restaurant/bar. Menu good and reasonably priced. Where this place wins is its beautiful location, set by an old mill stream in heavily wooded location. The restaurant gives you the opportunity to dine or drink among the tree tops- stunning in the leafy months or outside on patio overlooking the stream. A stunning location and first class architectural achievement. As a real-ale CAMRA buff I could have wished for a little more choice or imagination on the ale front, but the surroundings more than make up for boring beer.
