I mostly avoid this store but since I didn't have time to go to Asda I went in again. It was the same experience as usual. Items missing, overpriced, staff members who don't acknowledge your existence and a security guard who follows you down every aisle. I just leave every time feeling uncomfortable. The place has a horrible vibe to it.

Staff glare at you and always inconvenience you with trolleys/pallets blocking aisles, guy who serve on the till just chuck the bag at you, very poor service and overpriced with dodgy looking security guards, shop at Tesco further along the road

Beyond awful. Why does Cessnock not have a proper supermarket? This is the WORST place to buy essentials: wildly overpriced and under-stocked. Aggressive security staff. The alcohol section takes up a huge part of the store but the refrigerators don't even work properly... so the beer is warm. They can't seem to stock the most basic items and charge a huge amount for household necessities. Bottles from behind the tills are literally caked in dust. Avoid this place! Local residents deserve a better option.

Co-op selection has always been somewhat limited because it’s a smaller shop but ever since the hacking food has been non-existent and it’s still not fixed someone said it’s gonna take it at least a month until things get back on track. I think it’s a little excessive seeing as there’s Asda literally down the street.

lol I read a review about how the security guard follows you about! I’m a local so I visit regularly this shop when I need small things and I feel the same! The security guard be following me around the shop and it’s so awkward! Also there’s never enough of anything and I just wished they made this a proper convenience store for grocery shopping and get a cheaper re-brand to something better! Co-op ain’t one of the most affordable brands/company to be in this sort of area!

There's something so eery and strange abot this particular co-op. The staff look at me in a vacant yet menacing way. As if they can barely conceal their ill-will towards me. Eyeing me up with some strange purpose in mind. Like they want to eat me and it's all they can do to hold back the drool from dripping out their mouths.

£1.64 for four rolls!?! You're having a laugh. A complete rip-off. They weren't even nice either.

Extremely helpful staff. They all seem to go out of there way to help. They seemed to have everything I needed.

Obnoxious and arrogant staff members don't seem interested in answering simple questions about what isle certain items can be found. Security Gaurd followed me about not even hiding the fact stood observing me until I paid for my shopping I felt intimidated and mortified as other customers started looking at me as if I was the devil incarnate.

One staff member who insists you look dead-on at them if you buy anything age restricted on self checkout when even Stevie Wonder could tell you're not under age. Even when you replace people with computers there can still some craving a power-trip. Who knew
