Pre-booked meals as we were a large booking. Unfortunately, the option for Sunday lunch that was advertised as vegan arrived to table with Yorkshire pudding (egg) and honey-roast parsnips in. I queried with the wait staff (who were lovely), who confirmed that the dish provided was not suitable for vegans. They gave a replacement, but I did not feel confident to eat the food - with fears that the stuffing and wellington contained animal products. This felt amplified by the dessert menu not stating an option as vegan (it stated vegetarian), but the wait staff said it was vegan. I discreetly expressed my dismay to who I assume was the manager, or a senior member of staff, as I had barely touched the roast dinner - at a whopping price of £17.95. I asked that a portion of the bill be reflective of their error, I was assured by the manager that the 2nd plate delivered was, in fact, suitable for vegans. I had my doubts due to the original error; in addition to the wait staff stating clearly that the first plate was for the vegan. I expressed that I understood the cost of ingredients, etc, but felt that due to their error that the meal should be subsided or discounted. When the bill arrived, the vegan option was listed as full-price. I went to double-check and felt that the manager was rather abrupt and made me feel like a nuisance. I was told, ‘it will be sorted’. The manager then informed that I could have 10% of the meal taken off, which accumulated to £1.80. So, although the setting is gorgeous and it is aesthetically pleasing as a pub, I would avoid if you are vegan or have dietary requirements (allergies) - I am gutted I spent £16.15 on a plate of food that was inedible.

Popped in for dinner Saturday just gone, instantly felt very warmly welcomed. Beautiful place, especially with the fire glowing. The menu & food preparation was explained clearly to us and we were encouraged to have a look around and not stay stuck to our table. The food came out and was absolutely incredible, we both were very satisfied and went home feeling very stuffed. We would definitely visit again.

Lucy, Don & staff, couldn't have made our stay any better. Very attentive but not overbearing. Its obvious they've been in hospitality for some time as they know how to be efficient in a very relaxed manner. The rooms are ample and spotless and the bed so comfortable you soon drift off into slumber. I highly recommend Bodkin house for a very enjoyable stay !

Driven past this place many times, so glad we finally stopped for a meal! The service was amazing, super friendly and lovely. We had our dog with us and he was made a real fuss of which was really lovely. Nice big fire kept us nice and warm after a big walk in Westonbirt. The food was so tasty, we had vegetarian lasagne and the pork belly; followed by the cheeseboard and a marmalade special desert. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we're excited to go back! Would highly recommend!

Our family of 4 (2 kids) stayed 2 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. We felt welcomed and looked after the whole time. We had the Beatrix Potter room, which had a double bed and an extra bedroom with 2 single beds in it. It was great having extra space in the rooms to spread out a bit more. The rooms were designed and decorated perfectly, with nice touches but not too delicate, meaning we don't risk our kids breaking things. The shower was very nice with good pressure. It seemed newly renovated. The breakfast was good too, everything you'd expect. The pub and restaurant was nice. We ended up having 3 courses for dinner one night and all of them were delicious. I recommend the raspberry cheesecake. The outside part of the restaurant was nice and big where you can go for a walk. There was also a small playground and swing for the kids, albeit slightly rundown but our kids still enjoyed it.
