Great location, just across the road from the railway station. Beautifully decorated for Christmas in Reception and dining area. Rooms are somewhat dated but clean and warm. The room we stayed in on the top floor had really creaky floorboards. Tea and coffee in room with biscuits and a chocolate. My only real complaint about the room was the lack of ventilation in the bathroom as there was no fan and no way of opening the window. Bar was good and the evening meal we had was fine. It's a very old building that could do with a little TLC. I would stay here again.

I stayed at The Royal Hotel over the weekend with my family. We booked large double room. It is a charming mid-range hotel located directly opposite Bath Spa train station, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. Designed by the famed Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the hotel retains much of its historic character while offering modern comforts. Location & Atmosphere Its central location is unbeatableβ€”just a short walk from the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, and other key attractions. The building itself is a Grade II listed Victorian structure, exuding timeless charm with a Parisian-style brasserie and cosy lounges. Room is decorated in traditional style with modern amenities like flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, free Wi-Fi, and tea/coffee-making facilities. Bedding includes Merino wool blankets, goose feather pillows, and Egyptian cotton linens, adding a touch of luxury. However, the overall dΓ©cor feels a bit dated, and there are signs of wear and tear in places. That reflects in the price. So you can't really complain about it. Breakfast is hearty and includes proper tea service with a teapot and strainerβ€”details that guests appreciate. Service & Value Staff is friendly, professional, and helpful. The hotel offers 24-hour reception, room service, and baggage storage. Pros Excellent central location Historic charm and character Comfortable rooms with quality bedding Great food and attentive staff Cons Rooms show age and could use updating Noise from nearby transport and people leaving night clubs

Room was spacious with a modern ensuite and quality towels and toiletries. It was nice to have hot breakfast items cooked to order and the buffet provided a good selection of additional items that were constantly topped up. Everything was delicious and well-presented. The staff could not have done more for you and we would have no hesitation in staying here again when we are next in the area.

Just across the street from the train station. Our room was quiet and bigger than other rooms we’ve experienced in London …we slept very well. Breakfast was ample and delicious, plus service was amazing! Bartenders Ryan and David were delightful to chat with in the evening while enjoying a nite cap. House keeping very friendly checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Front desk was very friendly gave us wonderful recommendations for restaurants to try and shop. Definitely would come back here again. It felt like Home.

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend spent in Bath. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The whole building is clean, charming and characterful. The food is very tasty and filling. Location is extremely convenient and the staff are lovely. Thank you again we really enjoyed our wedding anniversary time there. I wish you much success in the future.

We stayed for a 3 night mini break, This may be a 3 star hotel but with the excellent staff & food it deserves another star. The rooms may not be modern but they are very clean & comfortable and are in keeping with the age of the hotel. The hotel & rooms were always kept warm. The food quality was of a high standard and we were not disappointed with any of our meals or breakfast. The highlight of the stay were the fantastic friendly professional staff and of course the food. We would definitely return here.

We stayed in Bath for a birthday break and chose this hotel for it's location and the price per night was good value including breakfast. We arrived early on the day and our room was ready however there was no parking available at the hotel which is limited and we were aware of this prior to booking so we parked at Manvers Car Park, a short walk from the hotel. Our room was cosy and warm although slightly dated but to be expected given the age of the hotel. There were complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate with chocolates and biscuits and shower gel and shampoo being available was a nice touch. We dined in the Brasserie that evening and the staff could not be more attentive and the food was delicious. We spent the rest of the evening in the lounge bar which had a comfortable feel about it. We both slept well and given the proximity of the hotel to the station you'd be forgiven to expect noise however this was not the case for us. Breakfast was excellent with a full choice of continental and hot menus again with excellent service from all the staff. We were very satisfied with our visit here to the Royal Hotel in Bath and would recommend without hesitation. We will definitely be back.

This is a decent hotel in the centre of bath. It is slightly tired, but made up for by spotlessly clean rooms, excellent tea/coffee making facilities and a great location. I can't remember the last place I stayed where all the staff seemed the enjoy their job, so The Royal was a revelation! Everyone was friendly and helpful and a real credit to the place. The breakfast was also fantastic with loads of choice. Highly recommended.

We have just left the hotel after a two night break. We could not have been more pleased with our stay. On arrival we were greeted by an excellent and friendly receptionist who made us incredibly welcome. Our room was clean with a very comfortable bed with lovely linen. Both mornings the breakfast service was superb with delightful waiting staff. The food was really really good. Definitely will return to this hotel next time we visit bath.
