Overnight stay with family of five – disappointing overall We stayed one night as a family of five and, unfortunately, came away quite disappointed. We’d booked two rooms, with one supposed to have a sofa bed already set up. It wasn’t, and the person on reception couldn’t sort it until a colleague arrived. When they did finally come to the room and open the sofa, it still had the bedding in it from the previous guest, which wasn’t reassuring from a cleanliness point of view. Towels were missing from one of the rooms. The main room door had broken/missing locks, and in the bathroom the door was wonky, didn’t close properly and the lock didn’t work. The bathroom floors were dirty. The air conditioning controller was broken and the unit pumped out loud hot air all night, making it hard to sleep. The beds in the twin room were very old and uncomfortable, with coiled springs you could really feel. Outside, the entrance road was completely flooded, so driving in and out left the car filthy. On the plus side, the Elemis products in the bathroom were a nice touch, and the tea and coffee facilities in the room were better than average. The reception and lounge area are also quite nice. Overall though, for the price, the basics just weren’t up to scratch.

Wow, this is our first stay here and I was very impressed. We stayed in Saturday 22/11/25 and arrived at around 11:00 pm. Receptionist very friendly and helpful and explained everything fully. Our room was very nice and very clean unlike our recent stay in Travelodge! The room was spotless and smelt clean. Very comfortable bed . Breakfast in the morning was very good and had a good choice of breakfast items. We will definitely be staying here again to explore more of the local area.

We stayed here for one night. We had a great deal on booking dot come website. We were surprised how good was this place. Certainly better than Premier Inn. The room were spacious, clean and comfy (7/10) beds and pillows. It was quiet and close to the motorway. The breakfast was the regular English/Welsh breakfast. We would stay, here again.

Really enjoyed my stay. The check-in and bar staff were amazing — friendly, welcoming, and couldn’t do enough to help. The room was spotless, and the bed was super comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

A relatively cheap no frills hotel to use as a base for a long weekend break. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are a good size but could do with a tech upgrade. A tiny TV with no smart capabilities is not really acceptable in 2025. There are lots of nice pubs/restaurants close by for evening meals, I would not recommend Sawyer's which is partnered with the hotel. It's a very basic pizza/burger place and you can get better for the same price. Breakfast at the hotel is poor, not a very good selection, poor quality and is slow to be restocked. No fruit and no pastries after the weekend. I probably wouldn't stay here again but for what we paid it was acceptable.

Really nice and relaxed place to stay, even though it is relatively far away from Bristol I’m often choosing this hotel when I’m in the city.

We stayed for two nights on a trip around North and South Wales, we were welcomed as soon as we arrived very friendly staff. The rooms are very clean as is the hotel, we stayed after lock down so regulations were still in place but they supplied breakfast you could pick up in a bag all done very well wouldn't hesitate to book again thank you.

This is a well laid out hotel with a good sized clean well maintained public area. The check in was fairly quick as you can download as app to speed the process up. The buffet breakfast was easy to access with plenty of tables available even when busy. Although it can be a bit consistent in terms of what is on offer from day today The rooms were clean and comfortable and benefited from a sofa bed with an easy to use good sized shower. The hotel housekeeping leaves something to be desired. Twice the room was not made up do a bit hit and miss and could be better.

I really enjoyed my stay last Thursday night. I hadn't booked and needed somewhere to overnight on my way back to England from Wales. I arrived around 5pm and was given a very fair price, including breakfast. I was delighted with my room, which was beautifully fitted out, with everything one could need. Lovely spacious bathroom, a massive and very comfortable bed - and even a sofa. The tea, coffee and biscuits were also very nice and good to see they were Welsh brands. Breakfast the following morning was lovely. Nice to see a really good buffet breakfast again and also everything else you might like. All the staff I met were very welcoming and I really had a great stay. Despite the location near the M4, my room was quiet and I had a great night's sleep and was back on my journey very quickly again next day. I would actually go out of my way to do a stopover here again on other Welsh holidays I go on, it was so nice.

If I could give 10 stars then I would, this hotel is excellent. Parking is easy. Air conditioned. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Free breakfast is excellent. Rooms clean and attractive. Views fantastic. Last stay I asked for a queen room and asked them to make up the bed for me which they forgot to do, but when I pointed this out they apologised and immediately offered to fix it. Truly exceptional hotel, would not stay anywhere else in South Wales.
