Lovely Georgian house and garden with an equally lovely host who was very helpful and made us feel welcome and relaxed. Breakfast was fabulous.
A veritable gem of an hotel. If you are looking for a standard hotel experience- don't bother. If you want a piece of England that is unique and harks back to a bygone age, this is for you. We had a wonderful stay and it felt like a visit to Greene Knowe or your fairy godmother. Patricia is wonderful and the breakfasts were lovely. Highly recommended and we look forward to visiting again.

Absolutely lovely experience! House was beautiful and brimming with history. Gorgeous garden. Everything spotless. Great location for the historic town of Axbridge which had a great pub called The Lamb. Patricia was amazing, warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was delicious! Perfect plane for a long weekend or mini break if you want to relax in a quintessential English town with endless interesting history. Would highly recommend Compton House.
A very special time spent with a particularly fine and charming hostess, Patricia. In a delightful Georgian House originally owned by the renowned Fry family, set in a lovely position with attractive garden and country outlook and within minutes of the centre of the historic Axminster town square while enjoying very easy access to all the various amenities in the surrounding areas. Excellent accommodation and an outstanding home-cooked breakfast is just part of the many delights you may be sure you will experience at Compton House.

Compton House is so gorgeous, full of character and period features and furniture. The food is excellent and the owner is charming. A not to be missed slice of West Country atmosphere and history.
Patricia is an amazing host, nothing is too much trouble for her. The house is amazing, old with loads of character. Rustic in places but this just adds to the character of the property. Our bed was very comfortable, we had a great nights sleep.
