Great YHA - small rooms for 4 but more than adequate. Like many YHA it is out of town and up a hill but excellent otherwise.

This YHA has been extensively refurbished and was very modern. It does, however, remain its charm as one of the older hostels, designed as a Swiss cottage. The hostel is walking distance from Street and within easy driving distance of Wells and Glastonbury. There are also pleasant country walks on the doorstep. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Hands-down the best YHA I have stayed at. Spotlessly clean, situated in a gloriously quiet spot, within spitting distance of so many good places to visit. Ideal base for a Somerset adventure.

Lovely location up on the hill above Street, very near Glastonbury. Very friendly, helpful staff on duty. Boys did some folding of linen, which they enjoyed. Stayed in one of the two wooden camping pods in autumn school half term (very snug and warm) and used the self-catering kitchen. Beautiful misty views over Somerset in the morning, with Glastonbury Tor appearing majestically through thee low clouds in the distance. Had a nice walk along the ridge to an old windmill. You can walk down to Street. Don't try driving up the narrow unmade track to the hostel (liable to scrape bottom of car on the grass between the tyre tracks). Park in the little carpark up behind the hostel instead. Very short walk from there to the pods.

Building looks quaint, facilities inside okay but the car park and paths need attention! Car park has many pot holes and is waterlogged in places but the real pain is the "path" to the building across the grass which is just mud!

Stayed for 5 nights . Bathrooms cleaned everyday. Fantastic new kitchen facilities. Good sized dining area. Great location ideally situated for Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet by car. Friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend

Wonderful facilities and beautiful interior space. Not enough space for camping with your own tent. If you use google map , best to use Ivythorn Hill Car Park as your destination. No car parking space on the YHA site.

This hostel has just been very nicely refurbished. The kitchen and dining area are spanking brand new and the bunk beds now all have plug sockets to charge your phone. There is a new spacey shower cubicle downstairs plus others upstairs. There is plenty of parking but you might need to park in the car park on the opposite side of the road when it is June, as the main yha car park is also use to see the rare large blue butterfly at collard hill. The only downside is it takes 30 mins to walk to the nearest pub in Street but that's not a.problem if you are organised as you can bring your own alcohol as the hostel does not sell it there. This is an ideal hostel to bring your kids as long as you have a car

Everything you would expect from a Youth Hostel. We hired the whole place for ourselves and was great value for money. Mud was a big downside.....a gravel path from the car park to the hostel is desperately needed. Friendly check in but the guy never turned up for check out, which was annoying. Especially as the YHA have stopped doing the late check out option.
