“No frills and no fuss as you'd expect but it is clean and tidy. Amazing location but don't expect to get down the drive in a low slung sports car! You'll be fine in a normal car at a steady pace. Great as a hiking or biking Basecamp.”

“Second time I’ve stayed in this hostel and I love it! The staff is incredibly lovely and helpful, they make you feel at home. The first time I had a private room and it was perfect. The second time I stayed in a shared room and it was a bit small and awkward having 3 level bunk beds, it was definitely harder to get good sleep but still an overall nice experience.”

“Lovely hostel up a hill. Getting to and from it is an adventure for the children, and me! Stayed in a nice, private ensuite family room. spacious self catering room. Doesn't have a cooker but has air fryer ovens. Pleasant atmosphere. Amazing views. I would advise taking additional pillows with you. We have now stayed at a number of YHA hostels. Always positive and good value for money. Thank you YHA Bath.”

“I've stayed at this hostel 4 or 5 times now and have loved every stay. Firstly location wise being so close to the arnolfini and harbour side is excellent, the staff are very friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. The rooms are always tidy and there is very little noise from inside the hostel. One previous visit also saw a local musician play some acoustic music which was lovely. I'd recommend this place to anyone.”

“Location was excellent, only a few minutes walk from the harbour restaurants, 15min walk to the city centre, and 10mins to the O2 Academy. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in. I stayed in a private room. It was small, with just a bed and a side cupboard, but it was exactly what I needed, and cost literally 1/4 of the next cheapest accommodation in the centre, so great value. Bed was comfortable, and all the bedding was washed and clean. Communal bathroom was very clean. I arrived back around 12:30am after going to a concert. Was buzzed in straight away. Had a good night's sleep....no noise whatsoever from anyone else in the hostal. At checkout, was given my £20 deposit back straight away, all very quick and easy. I'll definitely stay here again the next time I need to stay in the city centre.”

“Went here even after reading the other reviews, just for the idea of novelty value. But, it was actually a really nice place to stay, didn't need to book in advance, and could get a room with my friend for only £16 each. Clean, well looked after, good housekeeping routine, more of a self-service basis, but with the nature of it being a hostel works efficiently. Provided free tee and coffee, had a lounge, living room(TV, DVD's Books), kitchen with dining table, music and gaming room. The rooms have safes or you can keep valuables at the reception, the place felt more like a little community than somewhere that could be hostile, and be at risk of losing your things or health and safety being at risk. I couldn't recommend it more, and would definitely stay here every time I go to Bristol, and will recommend others that they do also.”

“Friendly place with attentive staff. Good local real ale and cider at competitive prices. We hadn't been to Chepstow for some time but the building has been transformed in recent years and is a credit to the town.. Interior is clean, light and airy. All in all a great place to stay or just stop for a drink.”

“Oh my goodness what a fabulous place. We had our hen weekend at this amazing property and all our guesrs were suitably impressed. The luxury shines through and there is everything here you could wish for. A great party house for larger gatherings that will accommodate your needs. Lovely garden with hot tub that is secluded and private. Far reaching veiws but house still has a homely feel. Would definitely recommend and owner is a perfect host with nothing too much trouble. Do rent this property you will not be disappointed.”

“This was the best hostel I have stayed at during my travels. It is very affordable, clean, and the staff are warm and welcoming. The fact that it's a boat makes it unique and the location is fantastic. The upper deck has a nice lounge area and there is free hot chocolate and other things in the back. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to go to Bristol.”

“Visited for my birthday with a few friends from a hiking group. The setting is fantastic, it's a castle! The staff were lovely and kind enough to give us a tour including the dungeon pit and throne room. Nearby are plenty of walks, puzzlewood is only a short drive and truly mystical. The George inn had live music both nights and real good food. Planning another trip here in the future for sure! Thank you.”

“We stayed in one of the new rooms and we were really surprised how nice it was. The room had been styled really well with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable as well. Usually accommodation close to the airport is average and super expensive. We will definitely use again.”

“Lovely place to stay for my family of four. Very comfortable and the self-catering kitchen was good. A bit out of the town, but that suited us perfectly. Very welcoming staff - the warden even lent us a map. Lots of walking on the doorstep of the hostel. We walked to Duster Castle, through the woods. Would happily stay there again.”

“Lovely location up on the hill above Street, very near Glastonbury. Very friendly, helpful staff on duty. Boys did some folding of linen, which they enjoyed. Stayed in one of the two wooden camping pods in autumn school half term (very snug and warm) and used the self-catering kitchen. Beautiful misty views over Somerset in the morning, with Glastonbury Tor appearing majestically through thee low clouds in the distance. Had a nice walk along the ridge to an old windmill. You can walk down to Street. Don't try driving up the narrow unmade track to the hostel (liable to scrape bottom of car on the grass between the tyre tracks). Park in the little carpark up behind the hostel instead. Very short walk from there to the pods.”

“I can't imagine visiting Bristol again and not staying here! The hostel is large, the rooms are beautiful, clean, and well-equipped. Everything you need is in one place. Want to make dinner? There's a huge kitchen (with free coffee!). Want to chill out? There's a common room with a TV, games, and books! Want to dance? There's a beer garden and two bars downstairs with different styles of music! The staff was also super helpful. I had huge boxes of music equipment with me (I'm a street musician). They helped me organize and store them. I 200% recommend this place!”

“Blown away by the knowledge, empowerment, time and space shared by this idyllic retreat. This programme is packed, and seriously backed up by evidence and the infectious enthusiasm of some extraordinary professionals. There is something new to try for everyone.
