    Cohort Hostel

    ★★★★☆ 4.6

“I've stayed in lots of hostels over the last year in various countries. This was definitely one of the nicest ones I stayed in. Good open social spaces and a kitchen which people can use. The rooms are really nice and beds are sturdy. The scaffolding style bars on the wooden frames are great for hanging things on etc. Very friendly staff and perfect location - would definitely come back here. I came with 2 friends on a cycling trip through Cornwall - We locked our bikes in the courtyard area which is very safe. Hostel seems very welcoming to solo and group travellers too.”

    Plymouth Backpackers

    ★★★☆☆ 3.8

“Clean beds, good location, great price. Spacious common areas. Very friendly and helpful staff. They were happy to hold my suitcase and hand it to the postman to be shipped home while I was away. Breakfast is toast, cereal, coffee, tea and juice, but it's included in the already low price. Overall, I am happy with my stay here, and will be back next time I'm in Plymouth. 15-20 min walk from train station. If you're looking to explore Cornwall on a budget, this is a great place to do it from.”

“Came in for food. Had two of the specials. Potato and leak soup and the burrito. Soup was hearty and flavourful accompanied with warm bread and butter can't go wrong. The burrito was nice paired with chips and side salad. Little greasy but had all the right flavours. Staff were great no complaints. Will come here again for sure.”

“We loved the place in the middle of dartmoor, we stayed for 4 nights. Very clean place, hiking trails starting right in front, wild ponies eating grass next to parking :-) Accommodation is pretty basic, but worth the price. Friendly staff. Wifi was not working properly, no reception for phone -> we enjoyed the digital detox.”

    Nun's Cross Farm

    ★★★★☆ 4.6

“Remote bunk house, you have to book it as it is locked up. Quite well stocked with equipment, no running water, but x4 gas burners off gas bottles, so you can cook a hearty meal. Plenty of wood for those cold nights. Track is for 4x4 only, else a car park at the top of the track, about 2mile walk to Princetown.”

“We only stayed here for one night during a cycle across Cornwall. The staff here were amazing! We arrived late after cycling from bodmin via the Eden Project. Despite us turning up after kitchen closing they were willing to not only make us some dinner but even cater to my super fussy requests ! The room was clean and in great condition with comfy bunk beds. Really happy with our brief stay!!”

    YHA Elmscott Bunkhouse

“This is a lovely hostel. The self catering kitchen is a good size. The hostel is nice and clean. Plenty of parking. It's right in the middle of nowhere so if you want peace and quiet this is the place to stay. It's also the place to visit to see the Devon lanes especially in and around the Marsland nature reserve. They reminded me of the Holloway's you see in Dorset like Hell lane.”

“Tavistock is a lovely place. I visited this place for the first time today and would definitely go back. Food was excellent, good choices. We had roast with deserts. Service was amazing, nothing too much trouble. Family business that I’d rather give my custom to. See you again soon”

    Powder Mills

    ★★★★☆ 4.4
    Open

“The two bed bunk room at Powder Mills was absolutely perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed, with a set of comfortable bunk beds, sheets, duvets and pillows, as well as a kitchen unit with a fridge, freezer, hot plates, kettle and toaster, cutlery and sink. It also had a good shower and toilet and heating provided. It was just what we needed after a day walking on soggy Dartmoor!”
