   Stayed at the bunkhouse whilst taking a group of scouts on a kayak trip. The place was really comfortable and perfect for what we needed. Val was superb with helping us out and being flexible. The food was great and the pub was friendly. Would definitely stay again!

   Tavistock is a lovely place. I visited this place for the first time today and would definitely go back. Food was excellent, good choices. We had roast with deserts. Service was amazing, nothing too much trouble. Family business that I’d rather give my custom to. See you again soon

   Very friendly landlady and staff, excellent service and food, good choices on the menu. Very dog friendly. Nothing is any trouble. Good banter going on between the locals playing pool. All in all, a lovely little find will definitely return.

   Came in just looking for a pint after a long hike. Looks like your normal pub and expected the same inoffensive but not exciting food. Was very surprised at the selection of the menu and ate a delicious homemade venison pie with a very generous portion of vegetables and chips. The prices are really good for the size and quality of the meal. The whole group was very impressed by this pub. Would definitely go again if I'm ever in the area.

   A bit expensive for a bunkhouse, also difficult to get sleep for an early start into Dartmoor due to the loud groups outside in the garden making noise even past midnight. I would at least ask that they stay inside the bar past 10-11 pm, so as to not disturb the sleeping quarters. However, the bed itself is cozy and all facilities are spotless. Blankets and sheets are very warm. The location is also good, being about a 5 minute walk away from the bus station.
