The most wonderful, comfortable and well equipped house. The owners have thought of everything one could need. The surrounding area is stunning and we loved the pool! Highly recommended.
Wow where to start! The endless grounds, the pool, the facilities, the comfy beds, the welcome pack, the homemade honey, the board games, the log burners, the friendly neighbours, the peace, and the proximity to Tavistock and the Dartmoor! What a perfect holiday we have had. Even rain didn't stop play. This place truly is a slice of Devon heaven and we can't wait to come back. The dogs had hours of fun investigating the grounds, the children, aged 7 and 13 were both kept entertained and the pool felt like a slice of luxury. Angus was always ready to answer our questions and we honestly don't want to leave! Thank you for a truly wonderful holiday.
This house has everything. From the moment our family arrived, we quickly felt at home and couldn’t believe the facilities. So many items were provided and there was even a hamper of local produce on the kitchen table plus ingredients for making bread! The bedrooms were all lovely with comfortable beds. We loved the farmhouse/cottage feel of the downstairs rooms. There was a cupboard full of board games, piano and a whole library of books. Also there were many suggestions for places to visit, walks etc. Outside the grounds were fantastic with gardens, pond and so much space for games. Everything you could want was provided with badminton net and equipment, football goal, boules and large trampoline. The highlight for us was the beautiful pool. This was heated with an easy to use electric cover. In the pool house were floats, inflatables etc. We had a fantastic time and I can thoroughly recommend Hartwell.
Wonderful house for a family get together. We arrived to an excellent welcome pack; tea, coffee, bread, butter, milk, local honey, marmalade and more! There were ten of us plus a toddler and there was plenty of space inside and out including a summer house and acres of garden. Highly recommend.
Lovely large house, great for family holiday. Great gardens, 2 acres in all, super swimming pool.
Exceeded expectations, do not hesitate to book. Extremely spacious with a great layout that provided the perfect stay for 9 of us, with plenty of space for more if needed. A huge highlight is clearly the heated swimming pool area, but the whole house is so well stocked with table tennis, BBQ equipment, kitchen appliances, the list goes on. Thank you Angus, we hope to return in the future!
A fantastic home to enjoy for a family getaway. We visited as 3 generations of family members, and all loved it. So much to do at the house and excellent amenities provided. Easy access to explore Devon and Cornwall from. But you don't really need to go anywhere either with the private pool and gardens alternatively. Really good host, who has all bases covered with info and support in advance, and during the stay.
Really a perfect location for a family or group stay in Devon's countryside. All is in very good shape, tidy and clean. Great kitchen and sleeping rooms. Wonderful estate with a flowerful garden. Great pool, heated to 26 degrees. Lots of facilities for the kids (table tennis, table soccer, soccer goal, trampolin ...). Very good pub food in walking distance. Angus (the owner) and Angie (the housekeeper) are super-nice and friendly. Could not be better. We will come back.
We laughed, we played , we enjoyed the comfort space and thoughtfulness of the house. Wonderful relaxing home with room to cook and such a good welcome. It is in a great spot but be warned you may want to stay put as it is heavenly. Thank you Angus for sharing this beautiful space, we do hope to come back. My US family loved it
