Second time staying at Sherrill Farm. The farm itself in perfectly situated on the Cornwall/Devon border making travel to so many beautiful places easy. Even though youre only a few miles from Launceston with it's useful amenities, it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, solid 5* for location. The cottage we stayed in ( Fennel) was very spacious & clean, with all the mod cons needed for a week's stay. Original stonework & beams adds to the charm of the place. The only slight down is the fact its looking a little tired, our two stays were spaced 9 years apart & other than a different TV, nothing had changed in that time (from recollection) For on site activities theres a lovely little circular walk around the lake, ideal for stroll with dog. The tennis court wasn't great, looks like it hasn't been maintained in a while. One of the main selling points to us was the swimming pool, last time we visited we had some great fun there, ideal for those rainy days with kids. This time, although we enjoyed the pool, we did have an issue with being accompanied by little grass snakes in the water! This happened multiple times and whilst I appreciate that out in the countryside these things can happen, probably worth pointing out to anyone with a fear of snakes! There is also a games room with pool table, skittles & table tennis. Great idea, but again, very tired & poorly maintainedm The owner was really friendly, his dog Scruffy was always a regular visitor to our cottage, lovely old dog. I would definitely recommend a stay here, first time visit i gave 5 stars and although we had a really nice stay, I would reduce slightly due to the place needing a bit of work to bring it back up to speed. Overall, very good value for money, compared to similar cottages in the region, so I can excuse these minor issues, but thought worthwhile to point out that with a little face lift it would be perfect.

We come here every year, just got back from a 2 week stay and as usual had a great time. Facilities are brilliant and Ian the owner and Katie are so friendly and helpful. See you next year!

A quiet, relaxed stay. House was lovely very clean and tidy. Large bedrooms all with en suites. Hot tub next to your house was great. Well stocked with crockery, bbq provided, wood burner ( we didn't use as had lovely weather ) Beautiful lakes to walk around, ponies to see. Swimming pool area, was tidy and well maintained. Hot tub in the swimming area as well. Seperate male and female changing rooms again very clean. Pool was empty apart from our group both times we visited so lovely for us. Plenty of parking either alongside or in front of property. Other guests nearby seemed friendly and suggested paths to walk. Tavistock is a beautiful town nearby for shopping, cafes, park etc. Looking forward to our next visit!

If you’re someone who prides themselves on doing a quality job in their work, I think you might find these cottages irritating to stay in. It’s not any one glaring thing, but lots of little things. The toaster didn’t stay down (we had to jam it down with a wooden spoon); the turntable in the microwave didn’t turn; the webbing in one of the sofas was missing, making it very uncomfortable; the TV remote had gaffer tape holding the batteries in; very few of the cupboard doors lined up properly; many of the doors squeaked very loudly just as they shut; the big slate hearth stone in front of the fire has a huge crack, our little patio needed weeding; the flagstones outside the pool are uneven and need relaying. Etc. etc. etc. The old guy who runs it is very amiable, but the site overall needs lots of genuine hard work and money spent to come to a level where it could get more stars from me. Scruffy the dog, scruffy the site.

I have been visiting this place with friend since 2008. We love it there. Admittedly, for us it is more about the company you keep than the place... but the place compliments the time with friends. Everything is well kept. Jacuzzi's are cleaned and tested daily. The grounds are beautiful. The location is just 10 minutes drive from A30 and Launceston ( if you want to do your food shop at tesco, or get fuel ) and 15 minutes from Tavistock, a lovely small town we visit every time we stay. You are centrally located in Devon and the A30 corridor makes it easy to get to some great places in Devon and Cornwall for a day trip. If you decide to stay on site, tennis court, indoor pool and jacuzzi, table tennis, skittles, 8 ball pool, some cottages with their own jacuzzi, barbecues.

We enjoyed a happy holiday here. My disabled husband managed very well in Oregano as it has a wet room. His scooter didn't like the stones in the courtyard though. Scruffy visited several times always wagging his tale. The farms position is very central and both coasts were easily reached. We ate twice at the Archer Arms ,very good meals. We did a click and collect shop at Launceston Tesco which worked very well.
