Super-helpful staff who went above and beyond to find me alternative accomodation when I realised I'd failed to confirm the booking. Fortunately, they could accommodate me for the 2nd night. Comfy bed, curtain, light, socket and secure storage. The whole place is clean and the kitchen well-equipped. Right in the centre of St Ives, great chill-out space, free morning coffee. All excellent value. Thank you, and I'll see you again!

This hostel saved me in last moment! Great experience, clean rooms, friendly staff! The only real downside are the loud seagulls that will keep you awake at night - make sure you bring earplugs!

The hostel itself is great with excellent amenities but the occupants are not always great. If youβre a female traveller, I would recommend booking a female only dorm and not a mixed dorm if you donβt want to be disturbed by really loud drunk guys at night who slam doors, have long loud conversations at 2 am and then proceed to snore really loudly for the rest of the night. One even kept going in and out slamming the door and locked himself out at one point and started banging on the door incessantly until someone woke up and opened the door for him at 3 am. Rooms 1 and 2 are mixed and facing the main road so you also have to put up with traffic and pedestrian noises and itβs horrific on weekends. Iβve stayed here a few times and that is the only issue Iβve had. There was a conflict of interest with one of the room occupants in my initial room who needed loud noises to sleep during quiet hours and I did not and one of the staff members, Adriana, was so kind as to help me move to an unoccupied bed in another room. I did not have the most pleasant stay during this time due to occupant issues but I would stay again and next time around in a female only dorm. An idea for improvement would be having full length mirrors and little shelves on the walls next to the bed in all rooms as a standard. I had these in some rooms and some rooms did not but they were quite useful to have. It might also help to have notices of quiet hours inside the rooms as this hostel seems to have a lot more unruly and inconsiderate guests than other hostels Iβve stayed in. As most people are out during the day and are only in the hostel to get a good nightβs rest, when you canβt even get proper sleep due to loud and disrespectful guests it becomes a problem.

I've stayed in lots of hostels over the last year in various countries. This was definitely one of the nicest ones I stayed in. Good open social spaces and a kitchen which people can use. The rooms are really nice and beds are sturdy. The scaffolding style bars on the wooden frames are great for hanging things on etc. Very friendly staff and perfect location - would definitely come back here. I came with 2 friends on a cycling trip through Cornwall - We locked our bikes in the courtyard area which is very safe. Hostel seems very welcoming to solo and group travellers too.

I stayed here with my students whilst we were in St Ives on an A Level Geography field visit. It is a fantastic place to stay, the building has been nicely converted into the youth hostel, offering spacious rooms with very comfortable and cosy bedding. It is simply decorated and very clean. The lounge has separate areas for work and rest, with a range of seating from sofas, tables and chairs, bean bags and cushions, and a mezzanine work area too. There are plenty of board games on offer, as well as the TV and capacity to project from a laptop to a large screen (very useful for when I was teaching my students how to use Microsoft Excel!). There's free WiFi which is pretty good. It struggled at times but did have to support over 30 different laptops and everyone's individual devices at once. One thing that would be good for school groups in the future is if there was options to print off work/information for a small fee, which would be especially useful for A Level coursework. There's free tea/coffee in the lounge before 10am and snack/breakfast/other drinks available to purchase at cheap prices. The hostel has a focus on sustainability with options to recycle waste and reminders to conserve energy and water. The kitchen is very well equipped. On the first night we had a meal provided by the hostel. The curry was delicious with lots more available for second helpings. The rocky road dessert was insane. For the remainder of our stay we used the kitchen to prepare our own breakfasts. It is kept to a very high standard and there is plenty of shelf/refrigerator space to store your own supplies. There is a courtyard area too but we didn't use that much, though it is a fab space to have for warmer weather. The downstairs bathroom was very clean albeit quite cold! The sensors on the taps were a little annoying to use, but the showers were hot with good water pressure. The staff at the hostel were absolutely fantastic. They were so knowledgeable about the local area and were happy to help with any enquiry or just to have a chat! The hostel is centrally located in St Ives and there is a co-op and other food options just a couple of minutes walk away. It is close to the train station and there are bus stops directly outside too. Overall, I feel as though this is a hidden gem in St Ives. My students haven't stopped talking about it yet. I have already recommended Cohort Hostel to other schools and would not hesitate to book again. Thank you so much.

Perfect place for a quick nights sleep. Bed was comfortable, location was optimal. Stayed her before starting on the Southwest coast path from St Ives to Pendeen and this was a great place to have a night before getting started. Quick to reach from the train from London, near a co-op to stock up on supplies before walking and near the start of the path. Couldn't have asked for more from a hostel.

My daughter is here with her school as we speak they arrived yesterday and will be leaving on Thursday. From the pictures I have seen on the website it seems like a lovely place looks clean and spacious. I love how they have rooms for different groups of people. I only live in truro but am thinking of a weekend stay with the kids here. I caught a sneak peek of the kids last night on the ramp at the harbour was a really cool experience.
