   A great little pub with rooms. The rooms were adequate for a couple of nights anything longer and they’d be a bit challenging. The bed was ok but probably needs a new mattress as you sink into it and roll to the centre of the bed. Breakfast was good and was included with the room price.

   Very disappointed with meal the chicken pie was very dry had to have gravy from my granddaughters sausage and mash. Menu on line needs to be changed as my wife was looking forward to ribs but not on real menu. I don’t feel that food served is value for money as only vegetables served with meal were peas.

   Disappointing! I have visited the Sloop many times for a post surf pint. Today we booked for food and were left sorely disappointed, the Fish Pie had a unsettling rank taste and 2 of the Burgers arrived as a scrambled burnt mince concoction. The staff kindly offered to replace these with the chicken alternative, however after seeing multiple other tables being served and our party ready to leave we cut our losses and left. There was little hospitality from the staff and no effort made to improve our experience. Aside from this, the lamb looked great and the location is excellent. Such a shame as there is plenty of potential.

   A lovely pub in a really beautiful location. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom spotless. Food is very good - lots of great fish dishes. Really enjoyed the homemade treacle tart!

   Good rooms, great views, decent prices, nice and busy bar (not too busy), good food, very friendly staff - absolutely nothing not to like! Location great, walks in all directions with a nice stroll to the local beach (5 minutes) - wonderful views of Burgh Island too. Took our old (almost 15) springer spaniel and he said it was the best holiday ever (but his memory span is limited).

   A fabulous stay! The room was very comfortable, warm, clean and nicely decorated! Nick was great - he was friendly and welcoming! We had an evening meal which was delicious and then of course breakfast was was equally good. I love the fact that this place is dog friendly! I highly recommend this place to stay and also just for a bite to eat. Thanks again for a lovely stay! We’ll be back

   First time at Bantham and The Sloop, not disappointed. Fish pie was the best I've ever tasted, including some homemade ones I've had in the past. We didn't stay at the hotel, but from experience in the bar it would be good. Friendly staff.

   Nice lay out. Good selection of drinks. The reason for the 3 stars: ordered a cheese topped garlic ciabata. I did mention it to the barman Leo just to pass a comment that laying a greasy dough bread on to a serviette wasnt the greatest idea...I had to pick the black tissue off the bottom of...wasn't great. I don't like wasting food and I'm no wallflower and Leo did offer to change it but it was just not worth the waste of food. Had it been something more expensive I may have change it. Just would like to see my food perhaps next time served just on the plate and I have a napkin under the fork and knife provided... I get presentation and all that... but a slight bit of common sense would have not gone a miss. The staff and quick and attentive and polite... missing from a lot of other pubs I've visited to that's a bonus.
