“Wonderful, friendly staff and a lovely, quirky environment. We stayed in one of their family rooms which was perfect for our needs. You could be forgiven for thinking things might be a bit basic, but actually we were better catered for than many hotels I've stayed at, with plenty of toiletries provided and surprisingly comfy beds - far more comfortable than certain 'budget' chain hotels. Definitely recommend.”
“Amazing place to stay ✨️ Fantastic welcome and information at check-in. Room was spotless and the self-catering facilities are impressive. Lovely bright comfortable shared space with lovely areas to sit and eat, indoors and outside. We will definitely be back! A huge thank you for running such a lovely safe space for families who need to self-catering. Location was perfect too.”
“Staff and clients are really nice, it's a wonderful place to work.”
“Visiting from prison and felt that it was a supportive environment with genuine staff. I guess anywhere is what you make it and if you bring negative vibes you wont get the best from Southview. However, if you adopt a prosocial and collaborative attitude then this is a good placement for adjustment and springboard for progression. Food/food share are well above average. Links to other support agencies are also good.”
“1996 was a bad year for me but I got sent to this place. Mr. HANDLEY was incharge back then. A super guy. All the staff were great. Back then it was mixed males and females. I wound up on the girls landing because it had a self catering room. They helped me get a job and a flat. But me being young and stupid I wound back there a second time. The staff deserve lots of respect. I realy enjoyed my time there, they made us feel safe. And No worries about bills and I made many good friends inhouse. We all used to go out together. It was a great restart point for us. Peace, Love and Respect.”
“Location of the hostel is good , walking distance to the city centre, 14 min walk to the Triniti shopping centre. Hostel is in quiet neighbourhood, 5 min away from supermarkets and Fast food , restaurants. What I like the most in this hostel is very polite receptionists , and peace and quiet . Even is hostel full , still people respect other people, no noise at all .Even we have a room next to the common area, there is no noise. Kitchen was clean, toilets as well. Breakfast is free, toast bread, lots of jam, honey, chocolate cream, cereals, tea coffee and milk. And they restock all the time.I recommended this hostel and I will back again.”
“2mile narrow lane to get there. Didn't stay ,it's nestled in a small cove shot walk to RHB via up over the path through the woods or when tides out around the headland lovely cove, amenities are there toilets, meals etc well worth the steep walk down from the (free) carpark. ....go again”
“Loved staying here! Really nice cosy common spaces and very well stocked kitchen, and the staff were all lovely. Also really enjoyed the history walking tour with Erica! Will definitely be back.”
“Great place to stay. Nice friendly staff..food always good.”
“Stayed here for 2 nights during a friend's wedding and it was amazing. Such a great accommodation for larger groups with lots of beds available across 5 bedrooms and a very spacious social area with Pool table and a comfy TV area with plenty of Dvds and a TV with YouTube and Netflix on. ( There is WiFi) There was a really well stocked kitchen with all the plates, cutely and cooking things you'd need for a large group. The place was really clean and tidy, all the beds were made up and the bathrooms were great. All stagg/owners that we spoke to were lovely and we would highly recommend booking a stay here if you are a large group.”

“No longer a hostel , and it's Riverside now not ECHG , hasn't been for years. So your information well out of date !”
“A wonderful house on three floors in the beautiful city of York. Great location, beautiful house and the hostess from York is the best host in the world. When you arrive, a wonderful basket with all kinds of goodies awaits you. A house set up for a friend's trip. A short walk down to the historic center, the scale is humane and warm and the houses beautiful and fun little shops and bustling people.”
“Lovely location, good amenities”
“Suited me down to the ground. Rustic and surrounded with working farms.”
“Staff here are on another level. They treat you like family and have such compassionate levels of understanding. They go above and beyond in my view.”
