“This is easily the best YHA I've stayed in. Lovely building, very welcoming and friendly hosts, great food, and licenced to serve alcohol (they stock beers made locally). Wonderful.”
“A fabulously positioned hostel which is clean, comfortable and very welcoming. The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. The hosts were very accommodating and produced a superb BBQ and excellent breakfast. A perfect stop off point for any form of hiking or cycling. Go there- you will not be disappointed! Thanks again.”
“This was a great place to stay with 2 nice lounge areas, one a snug with a wood burner and the other a socal lounge with headphones for silent disco. The location was great and very close to the centre but is up a hill. Rooms were well put together and slept like a log”
“Do you love nature and the beauty of natural England, Blakedean is perfect for you next adventure conveniently situated in the Pennine hills next to winding streams neighbouring NT hardcastle crags close to Hebden bridge, Todmorden and Burnley. This place is perfect for scouts, Guides and Duke of Edinburgh groups. The coatings are well places and offers great value for money. Highly recommend.”
“Great hostel run by the brilliant Louise and Graham. Highly recommend”
“Can't pass comments about this place but must say staff were very helpful and compassionate”
“Help me get back on my feet and get my own accommodation. Parveen is a disappointed to the place. If u have mental health issues she is not a person to have as a support worker. She would probably make u suicidal.”
“This place I believe is a vital hub in helping individuals who are experiencing homelessness. Aswell as helping those that suffer from mental health, substance misuse and alcohol problems. The staff are extremely helpful and this organisation has been established since early 1970s' and is a credit to all.”
“Had great experience living there for 9 months Never had any issues with staff or any other problem. Umar and the staff have been very helpful and always trying to help out the tenants. Living there has been very easy and comfortable clean rooms and nice people and recommend 100%”
“All was great!! Apart from self catering kitchen size! It should be double!!!! Cannot imagine how crowded it must be when hostel is fully booked. Thanks a lot!! Definitely recommending.”
“hi all .....we had a holiday booked with Stephen and the team and waited 7 months to go on the 3rd Sept 2024 unfortunately they rung us a week or so .. before we were due to go saying that there was going to be severe emergency road works going to begin out side our hotel in Benidorm .... and the company we booked with new it may ruin our holiday ........and went the extra mile to offer us fresh accommodation ( different hotel ) or a full refund ........we could not decide on the rite hotel ....so went for the full refund just short of £3.000 Lisa organised the whole thing including sending a cover letter to our holiday insurance provider witch also got us a full refund .... the service and constant communication from Stephen Howard travel by phone and e.mail was five star .... what with the excellent service we had on our 2004 med cruise we will be going back to book our Cruise and stay 2025 holiday ...thank you so much Stephen and the team specially LISA MICK +GILL”

“I just recently had a brilliant stay at the YHA Haworth. Me and Several members of our family had the pleasure of staying at YHA. We had a brilliant experience to say the least. We booked out several rooms, to sleep in, and also threw a party in the newly renovated entertainment room. We were lucky to have some good weather, which made my experience just that much better. The building itself is beautiful, and the stained glass windows, and the spiral staircase make for some amazing pictures. I honestly couldn’t recommend this place any more. We all loved our experience, and were treated extremely well. The service we received was brilliant, and we were treated very well. It was great fun for the family, and the children too. The games room allowed for the children to have their fun, while the sitting room allowed the older kids and the adults to relax. Brilliant stay, and I will for sure come again. Couldn’t recommend it any more. Definitely a stay worth making.”
“Quiet self catering hostel near Todmorden. There's no TV or WiFi, but hostel does get a good mobile phone and BBC radio signal. Water is supplied from a spring which the village shares and which the hostel asks guests to use sparingly. The hostel has gas and electric for cooking and heating. There is a well equipped kitchen and adjoining dining room plus a small separate comfortable lounge. There's parking for approx 8 to 10 cars. Hostel is very popular with walkers. Village has a pub for meals, local buses T6 & T8 to and from Todmorden stop by request right outside the entrance to the hostel. Todmorden can be reached by train from Leeds, has an open and a covered public market, Lidl and Morrison supermarkets, for other supermarkets you would have to travel to Hebden Bridge or Halifax by bus number 592.”
“Good place for hiking sports and scout camp”
“Nice staff very helpfull and accommodating due to my disability they were only to happy to help me when my son was there”
“Staff are professional and courteous and the hostel is overall clean, the only criticism I have is the mattresses.”
