Truly a joyous place to stay. I've stayed here twice now and planning my 3rd stay in May. I can see they're closed for repairs at the moment and I sincerely hope they're up for business soon as I will genuinely be so upset if they close. I'm a person of comfort and finding a home in places on my travels. I was nervous at my first time staying in a hostel alone but the whole place, from the entrance to the bed, from the staff to the guests, feels welcoming and comfortable. Everything is so clean and comforting, if I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

I was very happy with my stay at this hostel. It was imaginately decorated and there was plenty of space. The kitchen was a good size and basic breakfast was available. There was a good sitting space behind the reception area and the bedrooms had fantastic heavy wood bunks and storage space below. The showers and bathroom space were also a pleasure to use. Thank you for having me and I hope to come again!

Made a booking to stay here 6 months in advance. 2 1/2 weeks before myself and my partner are meant to be heading to the hostel I suddenly get an email saying that our booking has to be cancelled because the building has been deemed unsafe and in need of repairs. This is for a weekend where there will be hundreds of people travelling to attend a festival and we’re supposed to somehow find somewhere else to stay last minute?? Nothing in terms of gratuity was offered. Completely UNPROFESSIONAL and do not recommend at all!

I had a pleasant stay at the Art Hostel in Leeds. The bed was a bit too hard for my comfort, which affected my sleep, but I appreciated that my bed was made and ready for me upon arrival. The hand towel in the bathroom and the number of showers available were great. However, I do think the cleanliness could be improved—particularly with the bedsheets and the fridge, which could use more regular cleaning. The kitchen was spacious, well-equipped, and offered a good selection of tools and supplies. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful, providing clear instructions during check-in. I really liked the art concept at the hostel—it gives the place a unique and creative vibe. With a few tweaks in cleanliness and upkeep, the overall experience could be even better and more welcoming. I’d definitely consider staying again!

Wonderful, friendly staff and a lovely, quirky environment. We stayed in one of their family rooms which was perfect for our needs. You could be forgiven for thinking things might be a bit basic, but actually we were better catered for than many hotels I've stayed at, with plenty of toiletries provided and surprisingly comfy beds - far more comfortable than certain 'budget' chain hotels. Definitely recommend.

Quite an interesting place, and the price is affordable. The beds are good enough, the toilets and showers are clean, so that's a plus. Each room is unique, but there's not much privacy. For a night it was alright. The staff is helpful and friendly, and the lounge is cozy and has lots of books, magazines, board games. There's a simple free breakfast as well.

Lovely staff, beautifully clean rooms, well equipped kitchen and the common area was great to relax in. Great, central spot close to town. I highly recommend the snow globe room and will hopefully be back some time!

Clean, affordable, and in a great location. The rooms were really nice, each room has a unique theme and everything was kept very clean. Whoever is cleaning this place is doing a fantastic job. The volunteer staff were really nice and they were helpful. The location is perfect. A good distance from the heart of town with parking spaces out front. Keep up the amazing work!

We really enjoyed our stay. We came for one night and for the 5 of us it was only about £24 each. The room was lovely and the toilets and kitchen were extremely clean. Staff was lovely and made us feel welcome. Would definitely stay again!
