4th pharmacy I visited and only one that had what I needed! This is an old-school place with everything! In business almost 200 years and has great vintage touches.
I'm absolutely fuming about the terrible experience my wife and I had at that old pharmacy. I knew it was from the 1800s, but honestly, after dealing with the pharmacist, I have no idea how it's still in business. His professionalism was just plain awful. My wife needed an emergency prescription, and he flat-out refused, saying our doctor's surgery was open. Seriously? The whole point of NHS 111 is to keep people from flooding their GPs. I know this because I'm a pharmacist too, though I didn't tell him at first. As soon as I mentioned I was in the same profession, he suddenly changed his tune and said he'd check his stock. I immediately told my wife he'd come back and say he didn't have it, just to be difficult, and guess what? He did exactly that. Then he had the nerve to suggest we pay for the medication! It's ridiculous because pharmacies actually get more money by providing NHS services than by charging patients directly. He chose to let down our entire profession, and it's heartbreaking to see such poor patient care. And that's not even mentioning how he made us wait when we first walked in, only to pick up the phone and chat with a supplier for over ten minutes. His assistant seemed completely useless too, which isn't surprising when they're working for someone with such a terrible work ethic. This whole experience was beyond frustrating. I then went to Boots in town and got the medication in less than 10 minutes. This just goes to show how truly terrible this pharmacy operates. I will never go there again. Couldn’t give less than a star so gave one star!
The pharmacy department could. not have been more helpful during my husband's last illness. On a lighter note, they have a wonderful selection of soaps and toiletries. They can get busy at times but then I am always happy to wait. A gorgeous historic pharmacy
I have been coming here for years. A very knowledgeable, attentive and experienced team. They always have time to chat and offer very thorough and considered advice. This chemist is in an iconic, historic building and they have preserved the history well, it’s fascinating inside. It carries a very comprehensive stock and with the high level of service I really can’t recommend this highly enough. My whole family has come for decades and it’s been faultless every time.
Bad experience all round. I visited this chemist to collect a prescription and the guy serving was asking intruding questions about my healthcare. Initially he tried to overcharge. I recently got double the prescription for half the price at boots. Do not recommend.

Didn’t have my Med in stock but rang me a couple hours later when they did. Glad to have a chemist so close in the neighbourhood
Completely failed to supply me with my emergency prescription for my anti depressants left me feeling stranded and confused for half the day and in withdrawal with a headache and a panic attack. I finally got my prescription from somewhere else. Would not recomend for prescription pick up
How can anyone give this place a good review, they don't stock anything you need and a couldn't care less attitude to go with their lack of stock. Boots is better than this place and that's saying something. I notice the good reviews ended a year ago if that means anything but don't bother finding a parking space if you just need a chemist, go to a proper one.
