This is my favourite Indian restaurant, local, good food, great service, always welcoming and friendly staff.
Having been an avid consumer of both restaurant and homestyle Indian / Pakistani food, I CANNOT reccomend Dawaat enough! Each dish is unique in flavour, unlike most restaurants, where spice levels are just added to the base gravy, resulting in generic food. There are plenty of unique dishes, including seafood and vegetarian dishes. All served with great breads and accompaniments and a smile. Please ask the staff for recommendations, or for the chef to create you a unique dish to your taste. This is truly the best food in a very large area. Just a shame it's a 20 mile round trip for me. You won't regret it.5/5

Huge thank you to Paul! We recently moved to the area and this was our first time eating out. He usually does delivery driving but today was serving front of house for his first time and he was absolutely wonderful. So friendly and helpful, and talking with him has really made our evening and helped us to feel so much more welcome. The food was also absolutely incredible and we will definitely be back very soon. This local Indian restaurant is quite simply spectacular. Hidden away in a small village, it deserves to be visited by people from miles around ! The interior is clean, warm and welcoming, staff are exceptional in care and customer service, whilst the food is quite simply divine. I am not a regular Indian food eater, but this place could convert me ! When you factor in two main meals, two generous sides, a bottle of water and 2 poppadoms for UNDER 40 pounds for quality of this calibre...gobsmacked.

Honestly one of the best balti houses I’ve been too and I’m from Birmingham which is renowned for good baltis. The masala chips are amazing and the saag balti. The main waiter is so polite and nice! Highly recommend. I still travel here from Swadlincote because miss it that much! Great curry house!
