Whoever served us at reception 2 weeks ago was the most grumpiest front of reception we've ever seen. We booked into a damp room and he even admitted it, not even an apology or anything to make up for it considering we payed £100 a night for it. Really disappointed with the device provided especially for the money spent.
Our stay at this hotel was simply wonderful! Breakfast was included, and there was a delicious gluten-free option – a huge plus for me. The room was spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and had its own bathroom. The view was absolutely fantastic, and with just 4–5 steps across the street, you’re right on a beautiful, wide beach. The staff were amazing – so friendly and welcoming, especially at the reception. There’s a convenient, spacious parking area, and the location itself is just perfect. The food was truly delicious, with gluten-free choices available, which made my stay even better. I truly hope I’ll be able to come back one day!
We came for a visit after walking the dogs on the beach opposite. The service came quickly and with a smile. Nice menu and I choose Hake with beef dripping chips. The food was amazing. It was freshly cooked and so tasty. I would recommend coming. They also do coffee and cake for £5.95 which seems good value and lots of others were having that option. The cakes looked exceptional but I resisted a portion
Called in when we paid Sandbay a visit. It's a really nice clean bright place, with tastefull decor the staff were polite and friendly. We only had a drink so I can't comment on the food.
We had booked a group Christmas lunch. The roast turkey dinner didn't have a brussel sprout or pig in blanket in sight. The carrots were as hard as nails and the pavlova was an insult. A manufactured meringue nest with a reasonable flavoured sauce. Not worth the £22 i paid. Sad, as the service and delivery for a group of 48 was pretty good.
Enjoyed the steak night excellent value and great quality fresh food all the sides were delicious. Welcome prosecco on arrival was a nice touch. Excellent service throughout checking on dining and food satisfaction.
We booked a very large table for a late lunch/early dinner to celebrate my daughter’s Christening. From the very start of booking for the meal, staff were all amazing and very accommodating even when I had to add/remove numbers and meals from our pre order. They gave everyone welcome drinks and some other extras that we weren’t expecting but it really made it special for us. The food was perfect, the staff were spot on! Credits to everyone involved. The Bay restaurant has been designed absolutely beautifully. I would 100% be booking here again and I would happily recommend to anyone. It was made easy for me from start to finish. Thank you!!
Couldn’t find them on Tripadvisor to review on there as it’s still listed as the commodore. Initially we accidentally booked into the rock salt restaurant which wasn’t the menu we wanted but they happily and swiftly moved us to the Bay. Due to the jubilee weekend it was a different menu from normal which was fine. The food was good quality and good portions. The staff were friendly and couldn’t do more for us. The only negative was the lacking drink selection. No dessert wine options and limited alcohol free option for the pregnant diver amongst the group only alcohol free lager and cider, no gin, sparkling elderflower, alcohol free wine etc. Aside from this which I hope with feedback they will rectify we would happily return.
Beautiful food in lovely surroundings with great ambience. Our Chateaubriand was cooked perfectly to our liking. Compliments to Simon Hyde, the Chef. Attentive and friendly staff made our evening complete. Not my first visit and definitely not my last.
