   After a long camping trip in Wales, we stopped in Newport before heading back home. We randomly parked in front of a restaurant that caught our attention as we had never tried Yemeni food before. It was our first time trying it, and we can confidently say it won't be the last. The man serving our table was incredibly friendly and approachable, and the food was simply amazing. As a starter, he brought us a delicious lamb soup before our actual order, which was packed with flavour. Moreover, the portion sizes were generous, and the prices were excelent. We wholeheartedly recommend this place, and it will definitely be our go-to spot every time we travel to Wales.

   I went with my dad to this restaurant, oh my lord, that was some of the most delicious meal I have ever eaten. Everything was fresh and aromatic, but not overwhelming, all the food was perfectly executed. Not to mention the customer service was astonishing, everybody was so very welcoming and just kind hearted people. I really really enjoyed everything about this restaurant and would definitely visit again.

   Visited due to the excellent reviews and if you’re doing the same, you will not be disappointed! Top quality, top quantity and most definitely value for money. Most restaurants trade off between quality and quantity - Balqis is not one of them! We ordered what we thought was enough food for three of us, and it would have easily fed another one or two. The lamb dishes we ordered were packed full of flavour, with lots of rice to go with them. Balqis clearly care about the quality of meat they provide, I don’t think I’ve ever had as good quality lamb as that at a restaurant - amazing! Yemeni cuisine was new to us, Yahir’s (apologies if I’ve got your name wrong!) service was excellent and very insightful. We’ll certainly be back and would recommend anyone reading this review to do the same.
