   Visited on a busy Wednesday lunchtime after nearly 10 years since last visit! Very impressed with cleanliness, choice of food , service and what I ordered, the Chicken and Mushroom pie with mashed potato, peas and gravy along with the Apple Pie and custard later on for dessert . The Chicken and Mushroom pie was generously filled, tasty and filling , pastry was perfect too, crispy and well, perfect! The accompaniments were also impressive and of decent quality. Oh, fair, in-excessive waiting time for food to. Apple pie and custard were very nice too, apple slightly bitter and pie definitely heated microwave but so what? Really enjoyable for price and type of venue. Service received was definitely very polite and friendly. Especially when initially very busy at the pub (around 1pm) Shall definitely not leave it another decade before visiting again!

   Stone House is a modern restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere. The menu is good and good value. I had a t bone steak cooked perfectly with fries for less than £16. Service was excellent and the premises are definately worth a visit

   Went here for my son's 18th birthday. We had a delicious meal. The staff were really lovely. Atmosphere was good. Family friendly pub. I would recommend this pub. Thank you too the lovely staff.

   Haven't called in here for years, but were pleasantly surprised. We know it's a cheaper place to eat so weren't expecting much, but we both thoroughly enjoyed our food. Portions excellent (other half couldn't finish his). If anything could be improved, I would say the tables could have been cleared quicker, we got the impression that if we hadn't have ordered a dessert, the mains plates would still have been there when we left.

   We enjoyed the 2 meals for 10 pounds on Thursday afternoon,fish and chips ,the fish was very hot,my brother enjoyed his alcohol drink,the staff was polite,the pub and toilets was clean,was a nice experience for the first time here.

   Lovely Genuine Welcome, Bar / Food Service initially slow but that was down to staffing levels / breaks, Courteous and Knowledgeable Service Staff, Nice Relaxing Decor and ample table space - food served promptly and pipibg hot and taste / flavour was good - great variety of food and offers available and plenty of drinks for all ages and tastes - very reasonable prices and food menu clear + accept Blue Light Card - Child & Animal friendly - only negative from me was the flies that kept buzzing around the indoor area but other than that highly recommended place to eat and drink

   Visiting someone in Newport on Sunday so decided to call in to a place I used to frequent after work, The Stonehouse in Duffryn. It was quite early , just after 12 so wasn't that busy. We were asked if we had booked a table, which we hadn't , and were shown to a lovely table in the corner tucked away. Even though there were Menus on the table for us to order at the bar, it was possible to order from the Sizzler website. Sat down for 10 minutes and I decided on the Mixed Grill and my wife ordered the Rib, Chicken Combo. I ordered the food at the bar and also ordered our drinks ,a Pint of Thatchers (best I have had), and my wife ordered a Zinfandel, unfortunately for her too sweet but it was palatable. Waited for a good 20 minutes, which wasn't too long, and we both heard our food before we saw our plates. Sizzling away were two dishes of perfection, mine a mixed grill on top of onions sizzling away, with a breast of chicken, rump steak, medium rare, perfectly done, gammon, sausage, tomato, perfect cooked egg and chips in a bowl. My wife's verdict of the best meal she has had out confirmed the quality of the food, her only gripe which was minor was the amount of onions served under the food. A lovely 2 hours had and we left contented all round Well Done Stonehouse for your food and your staff who were very attentive

   A lot better than the last time we went!! Food was lovely. We had a lovely waitress by the name of taneisha and she was just lovely, very sweet and very professional. Will definitely be going again x
