Top quality experience. The food was great and the service was excellent. Lovely little place with a unique and authentic feel. I had the belly pork and it was so tender and tasty, I dined with a friend and she loved it too. Really good prices and it was fun to dine near axolotls. I've been wanting to go there for a few months and they did not disappoint. Would recommend it to anyone who likes Chinese food. Can't wait to go back for more.

Such amazing people running this Chinese restaurant. Food is authentic and huge portipns for our takeaway! The service was quick but it was all home-made. They also have cute axolotl's as pets and a very sweet atmosphere.

We are looong tome fans of Zi's Cafe! It's been out go to got both eating and and taking away for years! The owner is the most friendly guy around and has even offered to cook bespoke food for us (once offering to cook the chicken we had just brought in Lidl up the road lol!!). The food is amazing - tasty and in good portions. We strongly recommend the double cooked pork, duck in sweet and sour plumb sauce, squid and chili and garlic, deep fried aubergines in chili and garlic, as well as their curries and chow mein dishes. They are all excellent. Food is always delivered piping and never disappoints. They used to do whole and half ducks one day a week and these were absolutely amazing, if they still do we, strongly recommend you give them a go! The restaurant is surprisingly big and even when busy it's easy to have a conversation. Tried a lot of the take aways in Cardiff over the years but none have come close to Zi's Cafe!

Service was great but food was lackluster. Century egg and pork congee tasted decent, fried dough stick was incredibly crunchy and dense which made it hard to swallow, very overpriced too considering you pay about 4 quid for it. Egg tart was cold and a little soft, char siu rice rolls were quite cold and lacked flavour. Beef ho fun was alright but lacked wok hei. Black bean ribs were tough and mainly just bone, but otherwise tasted good.

The service was good and the venue was cute. You get good portions for the price too. However the food was really disappointing. I had the chefs special. The best way I can describe it is, imagine the white ish sauce from a Chicken pie but remove the taste and add too much garlic. The noodles tasted like nothing as well. I always feel bad giving a bad review however I can't bring myself to lie. I'd definitely give this place a skip or just go for a more traditional dish like fried rice.

Never had a bad experience with Zi’s Great customer service Excellent experience with takeaway and dining in. (Both equally as good) Recently tried a different Chinese just for something new, but never again. Zi’s cafe is the best for me and my girlfriend in Cathays. Been loving their food for 4 years now. 10/10 would recommend.

Met an old friend. First time trying Japanese (I know ). Tasty vegetarian hot and sour soup- maybe too chilly for me. But lots of flavour, lovely and hot for this cold weather. First time having tofu!! Haha I loved it and completely finished the bowl! Then had deep fried aubergine dish which was amazing. I am so going to try to recreate this at home! With veg fried rice. They had lots of people ordering take away by the looks of it. Saw just eat and deliveroo drivers coming in and out. But apart from us no one else in the restaurant. But sat do see as the food was tasty. But fine for me and my friend to have a good catch up. Service was wonderful, we had jasmine tea, because we were there chatting so long the waitress came and refilled with hot water again - I mean it was just what was needed in the evening on a cold winter's day! I will definitely come again!

I’d say hands down best Authentic Chinese food around. Huge selection of dishes. A particular favourite is the Chicken with leak and chilli, a must try. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. I travel about 15 miles for a takeaway, it’s that good. I won’t go anywhere else. If you haven’t eaten in or had a takeaway from here then your missing out.

Exceptional food, by far the best Chinese food I have tasted, a family favourite. We would not go anywhere else for Chinese cuisine. The food is authentic and the service fantastic. The dishes are light and tasty. The restaurant owner always has the utmost time for you. I would recommend sitting in as opposed to a takeaway for the full dining experience.

Very friendly and lovely owners, they personally speak to you and ask how your meals are and even hold conversations with you if you like. Food has always been great as well as their prices!
