   The past couple of times I have ordered food from the restaurant, I have had issues. First of all there are some things not on the menu on Uber Eats but the restaurant sells for some reason so I call and buy something equivalent. Today I called and a woman answered and I asked her if the fried fish was the same as the turkey multiple pieces with sauce and she said yes. I ended up buying something equivalent but it came in foil, the yam was cold and I got one dry head of fish with some sauce. I called back and the lady said that she gave me half a tilapia fish which she obviously didn’t. It’s not the first time something similar has happened but it’s becoming too much and too bad now. I’ll attach pictures of the fish so you can see if that really is half a tilapia fish. The quality of the food sometimes is below standard because if you go to a restaurant unless you specifically request for the head of fish you will not accept what you have given to me.

   A great place to experience homemade, traditional African food. We had chicken wings, jollof rice with fried beef and the X Large grilled fish. All were fantastic but the fish was definitely the highlight.

   I’ve been a few times and have always loved how homely and different the food is from what’s usually on offer in Cardiff. The server has always taken the time to see what I know of the menu and helps me try new dishes that I’ll like each time. They’ve recently refurbished but the quality of the food stays true to culture and never fails impress. They’ve always had incredible food and is one of my favourite local hangouts for any occasion. The ambience is relaxed with plenty of lighting with great music that is background enough that it won’t disturb any conversation at all. Top place, will be back plenty more in the future.

   Way way way above my expectations. I came here with a friend at his recommendation as he had enjoyed the food in the past, but they have recently revamped the restaurant and changed its menu so we didn't know what to expect. This was, without hyperbole, one of the best experiences I've had in Cardiff. The food was absolutely incredible. Everything had complex flavours and textures, and was presented well. I'd compare it to Brother Thai, but real African food. I was going to write down my highlights but I'd just have to write down everything that we had, so here you go. Boneless chicken, Suya, Sauce Tomate, Sauce aux arachides. Everything was 10/10. This place really is a hidden gem.

   Service was 5 star, the waiter took time to ask if we had ever eaten African food (which we hadn’t) then explained every dish for us and he gave us his recommendations. The atmosphere was great, music in the background which was not too quiet which I love! The food was absolutely delicious, we had loads of different dishes and they were all so tasty. We will definitely be coming back.

   The food at Le Mandela was absolutely lovely. Based on the name, I assumed it was South African but most dishes are West African, especially staples from Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana with the likes of jollof, tilapia, fried plantain. However, I've to say the place was too noisy and some regulars were absolutely unhinged. Especially, with the COVID-19 pandemic, extra care and measures should have been in place, with people shouting and screaming over you and your food with no masks on. In fairness, the lady (manager or owner) was trying to silence a couple of the guests but they were having none of it.
