Lovely lunch today at Cafe Rouge. We both had the half roast chicken marinated in garlic & herbs and fries. Chicken was served lovely & crispy just the way I love it. Staff were friendly and helpful and the 50% discount off the mains was a bonus.
10/10 experience. The staff were lovely and welcoming during our visit. I highly recommend their garlic bread - hands down one of the nicest garlic breads I've had and that's saying something! Their mocktails were incredible, good value for money as they were a lot bigger than expected. The chicken was alright, it was fairly bland even with the gravy-type sauce that it comes with. It could have done with some veggies. Overall great experience and I'd recommend them if you're looking for a place to eat in St David's II.
I love coming here to eat. My only preference would be to have more meat free options on the menu. There now a lift up to their toilets which is wheelchair accessible.
We had a gift voucher from our daughter for afternoon tea. It was great idea. We had a plenty of food for two of us. Was variety of small baguette with cheese, ham and pate (could be add it a little bit of tomatoe, cucumber or some chutney) 4 variety of small cakes, unlimited tea or coffee. It was nice presented platter. Overall good experience. Very nice staff, very pleasent and friendly, quick service. I'll highly recommend it if you are visiting St. David's shopping centre in Cardiff.
Scrambled egg with toast and beans on the side, toast was perfectly done. Crispy on the outside soft on the inside. Scrambled eggs also had a perfect consistency not wet not dry just right. Eggs Benedict was also perfect and my wife really enjoyed it. he did every scrap. Teas and coffees reserve promptly on sitting down. also, service was polite and enjoyable. Ricco fun guy
Food was amazing - the best meal out I’ve had for a long time. Good sized portions without being overwhelming, and just the right amount of everything. Excellent choice of food and drinks with friendly and attentive staff. They were very good with allergy requirements and ensured I was happy and comfortable. Toilets were nice and tidy, as was the whole restaurant. Will definitely go again.
Had the afternoon tea in Café Rogue and it was lovely. Great little selection of mini baguettes and tarts. The staff were really friendly and helpful too.
Have you ever walked into somewhere and instantly been made to feel unwelcome? Well that's Café Rouge in Cardiff when my partner and I were made to feel extremely unwelcome and like we were being told off by, I can only assume, the manager (some fella that acted like he's running a sophisticated airport cocktail lounge). The man that greeted us was rude, arrogant and dismissive (but a delight to all other customers around us). And as for the food, a very overpriced vegan breakfast was served to us that had bland mushrooms, dry toast, avocado that had been preserved in lemon rather than made fresh and a sweetcorn fritter that was so dry that if it had chocolate chips in, I'd believe was a cookie. Would not recommend.
Fantastic food, a warm and friendly welcome by the very knowledgeable restaurant staff. The food was exceptional, great portions, cooked well with wonderful presentation. I've already booked a family birthday here based on the previous experience. We'll definitely be visiting here in a regular basis. Highly recommended.
