I had a very disappointing experience at Currys. I visited the store with the intention of purchasing a Heinse washing machine with Wi-Fi Smart Control. However, an elderly male staff member strongly advised me not to buy Heinse and instead recommended a Samsung machine, repeatedly assuring me that it had the same features, including Wi-Fi Smart Control. As I already use Samsung products, I trusted his advice and agreed to purchase it after confirming multiple times that it had Wi-Fi. The delivery arrived the next day and initially I was very happy. However, when I tried to locate the Wi-Fi Smart Control feature, it was not available. I returned to the store and spoke to the same staff member, who admitted he may have been mistaken and said he would speak to the manager. In front of the manager, I remained respectful and protected the staff member, despite the mistake being his. I did not insult or raise my voice and even said that I was showing him respect due to his age and requested that he honestly acknowledge the error so it could be resolved properly. Instead, he attempted to shift the blame onto another colleague and said, “Let’s not argue, we will sort it out,” without taking responsibility for the incorrect information given to me. The manager then stated that he had spoken to a “lady” who served me and that she did not recall discussing Wi-Fi. I clarified that it was this gentleman, not a lady, who had assisted me. At this point, the situation became uncomfortable, and I felt the focus was being unfairly turned towards me rather than the actual issue. This was extremely unfair, especially as my old washing machine had already been taken away. I was then told about refunds while also being asked to pay £25 charges, even though the error was not mine. When I tried to select an alternative Wi-Fi-enabled machine, the same staff member repeatedly discouraged each option, pointing out minor issues such as colour or features. This made me feel pressured, exhausted, and taken advantage of as a woman shopping alone. Eventually, I agreed to keep the machine and was verbally promised £50 compensation, but at the till I was only given 10% (£44). The explanations kept changing — first £50, then a possible Samsung voucher, then reimbursement of the £25 charge — which was extremely confusing and stressful. The constant back-and-forth between the staff member, the manager, and the till felt misleading and emotionally draining. I left the store feeling deeply disappointed. I have been a loyal Currys customer for over 15 years, but this experience has completely broken my trust. Respecting staff should not mean accepting blame as a customer for their mistake. Based on this experience, I will not be purchasing from Currys again. The manager also stated that because I had viewed several washing machines, the misunderstanding may have occurred. This implication was both unfair and inappropriate. Customers are entitled to compare products before making a purchase, and doing so should not be used to shift blame or dismiss a legitimate concern arising from incorrect advice given by staff.

I was deeply disappointed to discover today, upon receiving the package, that the box was punctured. At first, I overlooked it because when I opened the box, the items appeared to be in good condition. However, to my greater disappointment, when I turned on the Nintendo, I found that the screen was blackened. How is it possible to send me a package with a damaged box and a screen in this condition? I paid nearly 400 pounds for this device, and I find it unacceptable to receive an item that is visibly damaged and non-functional. Do you really think I am happy to finally receive the Nintendo after waiting so long and paying so much money, only to find the screen damaged and the box punctured? How can this be possible? This is absolutely unacceptable! I am unsure which store posted it to me but Shame to whole chain and to this store that i left good feedback in the past and to those who send it wirthout verify that it would be of good quality !!! I have now arranged for the item to be collected and exchanged. Only God knows how long it will take for them to send it back — it could take forever. Maybe that was their intention from the start. They talk about online shopping as if they just want to tick a box and move on. No one seems to care. They don’t even show any empathy for the customer’s situation. Redicilous! Respect and value your customers and your job!

It was dreadful, sorely understaffed, it only took me a few minutes to pick a laptop but it took over an hour for the staff to get it off the shelf and they damaged the front trying, then they couldn't find the charger and ended up giving me a universal one instead. The staff knew nothing about the products but still managed to be rude and patronising about simple questions. I asked 1 assistant about the sound quality on a laptop and he said "ah well not good, these days the make them so thin they can't fit decent speakers" which he then repeated to me at least 20 or 30 times, even to different questions. I got the very strong feeling that they wanted to be nice, decent normal people but their training required them to say unhelpful things. When I got the laptop home and tried to set it up it was still logged into curry's display model and was unusable until I called the tech line for assistance and while the directions were very clear they were again very rude telling since I'd bought the display 'obviously' it had been used and I would need to reset it which took another hour. This was my first time buying a new laptop and I thought it would be better but the while experience was dreadful, long and complicated so I suggest staying away, unless you already know your tech and have the patience to deal with a long wait.

Worst Staff ever I went to buy Google pixel 7 yesterday. I had some doubts and i called the staff 2 times but nobody bothered to came and helped me even after waiting there for more than 10 minutes. The girl who was handling the Google section was very rude and it was not a busy hour either. Her attitude was like i was asking a phone for free. I changed my mind and had to come back without buying it. Never going back again

Been there at 1830hrs yesterday to buy a gas hob. They have a good variety of hobs compared to John Lewis. I had some questions on installing/size but the staff seem busy chatting with their colleagues and seemed least interested in my presence. Will shop elsewhere in a local appliance store.
