Visited today but wont again. I was halfway through giving my order and the phone started to ring, I was just about to complete my order I was basically told to SHH! and a finger held up as if to say quiet. If I am in person ordering food I think I should take priority over a telephone call, food was good, customer service not so good, you have lost a customer because of this.

I won’t be coming here again. As I caught the two staff members constantly staring at me. They were stood near the counter area, whilst they were talking and I just looked back, caught en both constantly staring at me. Which made me feel very uncomfortable and intimidated. When I made the payment at the til, one was stood near the door and still she continued to stare. I’m absolutely discusted, with there behaviours.

Well we loved it - just popped in after a visit to the hospital. Great place to sit and watch the world go by with a nice breakfast or coffee.

Just popped in for a sandwich with my niece. I had a lovely Ham Salad Sandwich and a flat white coffee and my niece had a ham and cheese panini with a Latte. The ingredients were fresh and crunchy and the bread was sooooo soft. Will definitely be back.

This is a decent enough place and reasonably tasty/deserves 3.5 stars (but not 4). There are three suggestions I would make: 1. While there is nothing wrong with it, I think they could get better quality ingredients for some of their dishes. Particularly sausages on the breakfast (and cook them until a nice brown colour). 2. Be a bit more flexible. Eg if someone asks for fried bread instead of toast on the odd occasion, it can’t be that hard to provide. 3. The younger staff do a decent enough job, but they could do with some training on customer engagement and just being a bit friendlier and smiley (I think this would easily solve other comments on here to that effect). If the owner is reading this, I hope they take these suggestions as well meant / constructive feedback. As I say, I think this place is fine as it is. With a few tweaks, it could be so much better.

The best little cafe on the green. Super staff that are the friendliest of any cafe I know. Great food, sandwiches and bargain breakfasts.

Us three guys have been regular customers in the past and enjoyed good service and good food but after our visit last week, this will be our last visit. We don’t understand why you have stopped serving your breakfast after 11.30am and we’re not happy with the rude way in which we’re told of this. When we got up to leave we were then told we could have a breakfast but just this once! When we received our breakfast there wasn’t much on our plate 1egg, 1small rash of bacon, 1 sausage that looked like it had come our if a tin and had an odd taste (certainly not one of Todd butchers delicious sausages from next door) and a small portion of backed beans. Certainly not worth the price compared to other cafes in and around Halifax that we visit. To cap off our experience when we went to pay for our 3 breakfast’s and 3 coffee’s we were told our bill was over £30! When we questioned this it was recalculated correctly but no apologies. So based on our experience we will be going elsewhere in future.

Never had a problem here until today. Came in for a breakfast and two drinks. Ordered a caramel latte when it arrived it was luke warm and far too sweet to drink. I ask a young lady if she would mind making me a new drink and she was very polite and made a new drink. Just as we finished eating the original member of staff came over and said ‘was something wrong with your latte’ I just remarked I found it too sweet too much syrup she then stated ‘I didn’t think it was, I tried it when you sent it back’ …. Unbelievable… in my eyes you don’t question a customer like that and then through a pandemic remark you drank out the same drink! The second drink made by the young girl was perfect and her service and manner throughout was lovely. Shame the other lady let this experience down!

Great place. Always spotless and they are always cleaning. They are very welcoming. I have been a few times now, I usually go when ever we have a hospital appointment. Went with mum This time. She had the small breakfast (not that small) I had the double cheese which was the special. I expected a small burger bun with 2 burgers and cheese. It was a large teacake with 2 big burgers ,cheese, and burger sauce it was massive. I was really glad I had not ordered chips. As it was I only managed 2 thirds of it. They make a good coffee too. They usually have a roast of the day as well. You can either have it on a sandwich or as meal. Not a bad thing to say about it and the owner is lovely
