Agree with others, the cafe is not the same as used to be. Badly designed, too small for the size of the shop, awkward tills and they don’t seem to care anymore about their main clientele, the elderly and mothers with pushchairs. It’s such a squeeze, tables cramped and lots of high tables and seats. All the elderly are fighting over the normal tables because they can’t get on the high stalls and same with the mothers with pushchairs. I don’t know why they are no longer proud of their main clientele and focusing on looking after them, instead trying to be young and hip trying to attract a different generation. It’s the older generation with the disposable income using them every daytime for a meet up with a friend. It’s very dark also and got little to no atmosphere. The cafe at Elliot’s field in rugby is much better and still how a M&S cafe used to be (also the staff seem to know what they are doing and have some customer service skills). Also found out you can no longer get a physical sparks card, it’s only the app, my elderly auntie wanted a replacement and was told to download the app, well she doesn’t have a phone you can download apps on and wouldn’t know how to work it if she did, so now she’s missing out on the coffee stamps and offers. Such a shame. M&S be proud of who you are.

Absolutely SHOCKING designed M&S Coffee shop at Fosse Park, Leicester and SERVICE WAS ABYSMAL, only gave 1 star as Nil was not an option. Staff were clearly stressed and lacking of any supervision or support, only 4 tills and TWO of them had ZERO idea of what they were doing and had NO HELP, one guy had to put a simple coffee and cake order through FOUR TIMES!! I reiterate with ZERO HELP. The queue and payment system was APPALLING. The designer of this Coffee shop was clearly out of their depth. Complete lack of coherent design, all at the same till you get your food first, then drinks, then you pay. There were 4 people ahead of me and it took a whopping 15 minutes to get served, BOTH THE FOOD AND COFFEE WAS COLD by the time you get to sit down. Definitely the WORST COFFEE SHOP EXPERIENCE IN YEARS, 2pm on a Tuesday and it was meltdown, EVERYONE WAS COMPLAINING, but management won’t know as there was no one to complain to! As a balanced review, the actual M&S store itself is excellent, very large and roomy, great choice of shopping items, BUT GIVE THE COFFEE SHOP A BIG MISS, NEEDS A COMPLETE RETHINK IN DESIGN AND SEVERAL SUPERVISORS WOULD BE A START. AWFUL.

visited the Marks & Spencer cafe recently and it’s definitely very different now. You can tell it’s become a lot busier than it used to be there was a bit of a wait, but the atmosphere was lively and the staff were doing their best to keep things moving. The new layout/feel gives it a more modern vibe, and once I got my coffee and sat down, it was still a nice spot to relax. Definitely feels like it’s gotten a lot more popular lately!

I ordered the fish fingers ciabatta. Cost £6+ and it a kids size sandwich. Very disappointed as I was starving. Best to stay with just cake and coffee at an M&S cafe as you know what you get.

Nice coffee but geeesh totally heaving when I went - more like a noisy canteen than a cafe.

Just had a wonderful experience at Fosse Park M&S cafe. Arrived with minutes to spare before closing and was served by the lovely assistant, Simone. She was happy to help with my order and didn't rush me at all. The food is so fresh and the coffee was delicious. Highly recommend.

Lovely new M&S cafe in store, nice, bright, clean and calm environment. Attractive cakes once we walked in, however food choices are not much, especially hot food. Price is reasonable considering it’s M&S quality, service is good, lovely, polite staff. Plenty parking, including disabled parking right outside, believe it has time limit.

Went about 5.00pm. Not very busy at all - a blessing. 20% off home and Christmas currently. Bought a couple of nice bone china mugs (photo attached). Popped into the main cafe (not the one right by the entrance), very few people there either. I can recommend the smoked bacon sandwich.
