Absolutely the best food ever... salt and pepper chicken and chips is much better than the Chinese... definitely recommend going and will definitely go back
This was such an amazing time Liz and Kai are so good and they did so good with my birthday cake aswell and polite and kind aswell definitely coming again!
I Went in here with my fiancé and friend in order to catch up with my friend from college. The fish and chips were very good and so was the katsu chicken curry. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and we all had a really good time. The service was really fast too couldn't have had a better time.

Honestly so disappointed with this visit. We love coming to the crown but unfortunately today's visit just wasn't up to standard. On ordering our food there was a number of items unavailable, which I think is terrible from a kitchen management point a view. It's a Saturday, surely you'd make sure that all items are available for potentially one of the busiest days of your week. We got a starter to share (Bao buns) the bun was cold and chicken was tasteless. Main meals were then served and the starter plate was left on the table. I ordered the Katsu chicken which is usually great but regrettably the chicken was overcooked. The outer coating could have chipped a tooth. Chips were overcooked. (Picture attached) My partner got the Salt beef and cheese burger which he said was lovely. Thank you. Now for the worst part, our son ordered the fish fingers after not being able to have the pizza and I honestly don't know what part of the bottom of the fryer they found these. The chips had no potato left. I've attached a picture to this post because I can't quite believe a chef/cook has let this leave the kitchen. It is their responsibility to ensure that the food leaving the kitchen is fit for consumption. I would honestly be ashamed. No check backs were done at any point, with 3 members of staff and a quiet period. We will return for quiz night but potentially not to eat.
On visiting the crown for the first time in many years we found it to be very clean pleasant & nicely decorated but unfortunately left a little disappointed due to the lack of meals on the £12.99 range been unavailable having choose something else minus the sauce my meal arrived very dry but was soon dealth with & was very nice unfortunately that was not the only disappointment we had as we wanted to order a mini desert with a coffee which was also unavailable to which the staff again apologised for it was just unfortunate that we choose that night to eat out
Was a baby the first time I was taken in this pub and have visited many times throughout my life. It must be a few years since I last visited and the food then was terrible. I'm pleased to say that the food was superb and the overall menu was varied and at reasonable prices too. Definitely worth another visit.
I've been coming here for quite some time now after relocating. What a gem to find!! Whilst I appreciate that cleanliness and quality are fundamental to a pub (which this place has in abundance), I consider service to be key for repeat business. The staff and management here are just the friendliest, kindest and most welcoming bunch of people I have ever come across in a pub setting. They're always happy to go the extra mile for you and ensure you're looked after and treated well. An absolute credit to the business. The beer garden has just been given a great makeover with huge outdoor tv, great for sports with plenty of screens around, whilst also have smaller sections for quieter customers. Great range of drinks and food on offer. My only suggestion would be to either call ahead or get there early enough for the kitchen as sometimes it is closed earlier than advertised (sometimes due to be quiet, sometimes due to large parties). Well done to the team and keep up the good work!!
