Unacceptable Personal Commentary by Staff – Nuneaton Costa I am a regular customer at the Nuneaton Costa branch. Today 02.01.26 a male staff member asked if I had a loyalty card, and when I said no, he replied: “Why not? You’re always in here.” This comment was completely inappropriate and had a real personal impact. Cafés are supposed to be neutral spaces where anyone can sit quietly, without being judged or singled out for how often they come in. As a customer, it’s not my job to explain why I’m there, and it’s certainly not the place of staff to comment on my presence. Staff in hospitality have a responsibility to treat everyone with discretion and respect—especially because they have no idea what someone might be going through or carrying with them that day. Commenting on a customer’s habits or frequency of visits is not only unprofessional, but it can make people feel exposed, uncomfortable, and unwelcome in a space that should be accessible to all. For me, the effect was significant: I felt targeted and much less able to use this space as a break from other challenges in my life. For some people, remarks like this genuinely make public spaces feel hostile, when all that’s needed is simple, neutral service. I expect Costa to hold staff accountable for maintaining boundaries and professionalism, and to remind them that it is never their business to comment on a customer’s presence or reasons for being there. Everyone deserves respect and privacy—especially in a public space meant for anyone to use.

Typical Costa, short queue/not a long wait for service, staff friendly and polite, tables available and the table were clean/cleared so overall a good visit.

Uber delivery orders taking preference over queuing customers, 5 customers in front 15 mins to get served ! Staff very unfriendly, no interaction, drinks not very hot. Poorly managed store, avoid !!!

I visited Nuneaton Costa yesterday with my three month old baby and felt very welcomed and cared for. The two baristas were working very hard but kept a smile on their faces. The young lady with the dark ponytail was particularly helpful and attentive and took the time to have a chat with me. As a new mum it’s not often you get other adult interaction so it brightened up my day. I normally order either a flat white or a latte so the new signature coffee (blend of the two) was perfect.

Place has really gone down hill, Don not put napkins on your tray when your order food, my glass was cracked. Tea spoons were dirty and no syrup put in our drunks, won't be returning. Service really bad people queuing out the door with 4 staff on.

Not one of the better Costas, service was slow, food was just ok, coffee wasn't made very well. Luckily I was only visiting the area, and will not have to use it again.

Visited on a very busy Saturday morning. The queue moved quickly and once served or drinks were made promptly too. Unfortunately, they had run out of the seasonal special drinks syrups. Staff were friendly.

I always try and find a Costa Coffee when ever I go somewhere as you know you will always get the same quality coffee any Costa you go. The same can be said here too, great food choice and the coffee was perfect, very pleasant staff, clean and tidy but very busy. I would however suggest that they should if allowed make the outside seating area larger it would improve the overall appearance.
