The coffee and cakes at this cafe are exceptional. However, the owner’s behaviour can be unprofessional at times. While I understand the challenges of running a business and the additional stress it entails, rudeness is unacceptable. It appears she favours older customers, who are likely to be her friends. Other customers who regularly visit the cafe are not treated with the same courtesy. The rest of the staff are pleasant and work diligently.

At Mocha Lounge this morning, I was genuinely horrified to see a customer being repeatedly berated by the owner, Lyn, for having booked a table for six people. She was told that she should have booked two tables and that her presence was inconveniencing other customers. This was said not just once, but several times, in full view of other customers. Even members of staff appeared visibly uncomfortable with the situation. What made this particularly disappointing is that this lady and her friends are regular customers — paying customers who support and help sustain the business. If a customer phones in advance to book a table for six, it is surely the responsibility of the owner to organise the seating appropriately. I have never experienced a situation where a customer is publicly reprimanded for not “choosing the correct table” after making a booking. The manner in which this was handled was rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. It was extremely off-putting and has left me questioning whether I would feel comfortable returning in the future. I spoke to another ‘regular’ who said that they have often been spoke to by Lyn in this manner. If she really is concerned about her customers she shouldn’t make everyone feel so uncomfortable - or soon she’ll have none left. No customer should be made to feel embarrassed or unwelcome for simply making a booking and supporting a local business.

1st time visiting Mocha Lounge on Saturday, they have a good menu with plenty of options and great value for money. We enjoyed a brunch and a sweet treat afterwards. We were there for about an hour and a half and it was packed the whole time! Definitely worth reserving a table if you’re a bigger group. Friendly staff, actively clearing up etc.

The ladies serving were lovely, patient and very helpful. The food was great, the toasted sandwich was made fresh for us and the Victoria Sponge cake was perfect, fresh and delicious (we reckon it was home made, was so good!) So glad we found this one on our travels.

Lots of people rave about this place so my review is based on three visits. Food, 1st visit I tried the samosas, greasy microwaved tasteless and sadly half went in the bin. 2nd visit sausage and egg sandwich, £4.50, sausage cheap and not meaty, egg overcooked and overall a dry buttered batch. 3rd visit ham sandwich £4.20, cheap ham cheap butter nice bread, and some side dressing of a salad, probably 2 tablespoons. Atmosphere, a local meeting place which gets very busy, no proper ventilation as windows were dripping with condensation and your unable to see outside. But you can eat outside. Cakes looked nice but around £3 a slice. Not my cup of tea.

Visited with friends for coffee. More than enough space for our friends wheelchair and we were able to reserve a table beforehand too. Staff were really friendly, warm and welcoming. Loved fussing Tilly (very friendly resident pooch) who was wandering around too! Highly recommended and we'll be visiting again for sure. Thank you!
