We had a wonderfully warm welcome at the Wheatsheaf. The staff are personable and friendly without being stiff or patronising and the food is lovely; we were sat comfortably at a table for five and the food was as good as I think I’ve had anywhere. Everything was beautifully clean and the prices are very reasonable.

Wonderful meal served to eight plus two children under three. Attentive and efficient service, great food (signature smokies are world class!) and all great value for money. Recommend. I will be back!!

Fantastic pub with a large car park hidden behind the pub through an archway on the front. Beer was great. I had Charnwood Vixen which was excellent and I am sure the Landlord would have been a great pint too judging by how well the beer was kept. Food was good, we had the signature stilton burger which was delicious. Also nice tables to sit outside or in the conservatory or inside the pub itself. Great service too!

Absolutely incredible lunch today. A really superb place to eat, faultless in every way it's a long time since I have been able to say that about any UK restaurants. I have gone to a lot of places in the UK of which there is always something wrong. However, this place has it all. Food first rate, service fast and polite, super ambience. All parts of each dish are perfectly executed. It may look simple but the love and care in the kitchen is clear in the taste of the food. I am so impressed I will be returning again. Thanks so much.

Really enjoyed lunch here in a lovely setting inside and out - fresh cooked food interesting and classic with good gluten free choices

Called in late Sunday afternoon and managed to get a table for Sunday dinner and was very impressed with the food and with the friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Will be back again soon

From stepping through the door the relaxed atmosphere makes you feel you should be here. All of the staff make sure you feel welcome, and set you at ease. The menu is not a massive one but the choices were there and any that was unavailable is advised from the offset. Hubby had fish pie,& the filling was phenomenal. Lots of fish.. which can sometimes be minimal in a lot of places ...lots of sauce & plenty of mash on the top. I had cod & chips... again lots of both...the fish was a decent size & the chips were chunky rather than fries.... absolutely hit the spot. Definitely going again...and for you people out there take a chance, you won't regret it.

It has been bought to my attention, that a number of customers who have dined here since the new owners took over have unfortunately been overcharged . Can I please ask that upon receiving a bill you check it. We stopped by for lunch and coffees , was disappointed to note that they provide frozen chips when they are so simple to make and much better. Service was ok but a smile would not of gone a miss from the 2 waitresses who served us and the coffees were served luke warm which isn't great.

Amazing staff and nice pub inside and out . I ordered a burger and it was truly disappointing. You'd get a better burger at Wetherspoons and so much cheaper. For £14 I'd expect something half decent and my burger was just sad. The Sunday roast was much better. Don't expect roast potatoes though with your meat roast. It comes with mash instead.
