This was hands down one of the worst fish and chip experiences Iβve ever had β and Iβm still annoyed they charged Β£9 for it. Letβs start with the chips: straight-up frozen, and soulless. Hard in the middle, no crisp, no seasoning, no effort. I couldβve made the same thing at home for Β£2 with a supermarket bag and a bit of shame. Then the fishβ¦ or should I say, the batter tomb. A rock-hard shell that crunched like a stale biscuit, with barely any fish inside. Dry, flavourless, and clearly over-fried β like it had been cooked earlier and left to suffer under a heat lamp. For a fish and chip shop on the pier, youβd expect fresh, flaky fish and hot, golden chips. Instead, I got freezer scraps pretending to be seaside tradition. Absolute daylight robbery with a sea view.

Pier Cafe is a perfect place at the beach for refreshing food. They serve fish & chips, fries, ice creams, hot and cold drinks, burgers, and hot food. We ordered two ice creams - Rasberry Ripple and Oreo Ice Cream. Both ice creams were perfect.

Rude staff, came in for a breakfast. Have been a number of times before and had great service. This time though an incredibly rude member of staff greeted me and lied to me claiming that food is only served after 11am saying "it says so on the menu you should read it" the menu stated breakfast is served UNTIL 11:30 nothing about when it starts. In fact I have been served multiple times here between 9-10 in the past. I do not appreciate being lied to as a customer just because the staff member was unwilling to serve food. If they don't want to cook say so don't lie and claim the customer hasn't read non-existant rules. Won't ever be coming here again.

Great little cafe on the corner of the promenade and the pier. Always busy. Dog friendly. Serves cold and hot food and drinks and ice creams. I had a rum and raisin icecream.
