What a fantastic place. We were visiting Barry and stumbled across the bar. Thank goodness we did. From when we first walked in we were made welcome. The service and other customers were awesome. Then only downside was leaving, although we did have to be chased to pay as our card didn't go through the first time! Thanks for a great evening.
Visited Barry for the weekend from Lancashire, the Butterfly Collector was a real highlight. The customers where most welcoming and friendly, one of the customers we chatted to was a local brewer and I was having a pint of his excellent ale whilst we where speaking. The landlord was most friendly and I was a big fan of the table service and settling up for everything at the end .. . in cash :-) Cracking selection of ales and ciders uniquely dispenced. Excellent homely feel to the place, very interesting and different interior (in a nice way); I was a big fan of the artworks in the toilets. We will definitely be back and I have nothing but praise for The Butterfly Collector

This pub is fantastic. I had such a good evening/night here. The atmosphere was brilliant, the staff and owner Gareth were all great and made me feel very welcome (even though I wasn't drinking!) There was live music last night and people queuing to get in, they have various things going on and a huge array of locals from all walks of life; young and old. I highly recommend a visit you won't be disappointed. John and Gareth I look forward to seeing you soon...keep that water coming!
