Excellent service from Matthew at bike desk today. He explained everything in detail, took care with alterations I requested and made sure I was happy with everything before leaving. He was also very polite and patient with another customer who was acting like they were the centre of the universe.

I had such a positive experience in Halfords Store Western Avenue this morning. Jay was helpful, courteous and so kind. He took a keen interest in my Saab with its leaking roof and he took time to work out what might be the problem. He suggested a possible, feasible reason and made the necessary adjustment. I was so delighted with his respectful, helpful attitude that I now have the confidence to return to that store in the future. He refused payment and said he was just glad to help. I was on my way to Somerset for my mother’s funeral. I got a low pressure warning so tried to take off the valve caps to check but could not remove the caps. Went to Halfords for help and Jay was able to spray it and remove the cap and inflate the tyre to correct psi. So grateful, took 5 minutes. He was so polite and I was able to make my way down the M4 and M5 knowing my tyre was good. Thank you Jay you saved my day.

Staff actually created a problem that was never there when taking it in for a service and failed to rectify it-twice!!!! Since the 'service' the back wheel of my bike kept locking, leaving me unable to ride it or even push it as the wheel just would not move. This happened to me on several commutes which was incredibly difficult-I was totally stuck and ended up needing to book a taxi a number of times to pick me up with my bike. In the three years of having this bike, I have never experienced this but this occurred straight after picking it up from the store. And, after picking it up a second time, I was told that this had been fixed but it absolutely hadn't and the same thing happened the following two days in a row. I kept getting told that I 'shouldn't have booked online' for my service-then why is this facility an option?! The whole process with booking is unnecessarily complicated-staff could never seem to find my order details on the computer. Zero communication between call centre and store, resulting in misinformation and a totally wasted trip. My bike should have been fixed on 16th September-I still had a problem (that, as mentioned, was NEVER there before taking it in for a service) until yesterday (04/10) it was still very unpredictable and unsafe to ride. Varying levels of customer service, competency and care amongst staff-I got the impression that they probably deal with irate, dissatisfied customers quite often (funny that!) Zero apology from anyone for the huge inconvenience this whole experience has caused. Will never take my bike to Hellfords ever again-this whole experience has been so frustrating, stressful and expensive (super expensive-I'm sure it would have been much cheaper and more effective going to an independent person/small company than a faceless 'brand' that don't really care) Thankfully, after watching a few youtube videos and ordering in a new part for my bike, my husband has now fixed the problem.

Can’t recommend this store enough. As usual I had left my son’s birthday present last minute. I went to this store and purchased a bike and paid the £10 fee for them to build it. Due to me being last minutes they said it would be ready Thursday, I explained my sons birthday is tomorrow and they then said they’d be able to get it ready by 11am tomorrow. However I received a phone call 4 hours later to explain its ready to pick up. The fact they got it ready in time for my sons birthday means everything and the two men I dealt with couldn’t have been anymore helpful if they tried. They are a credit to your store.

2 men by the name of Tyler and Lee in the bike department were so abrasive, very unpleasant experience, customer service was shocking. Bike exchange is a huge con, they wanted to give me £20 for a £250 bike with barely a scratch on it, In fantastic condition. My advice is Don’t bother sell it online personally. I’ve never had such bad customer service at Halfords Before experiencing those 2 people.

Very poor click and collect service. My order/payment was acknowledged but I had no further communication regarding collection. I enquired by web chat the following day but the agent could not initially locate my order, but said that the local store would contact me. They didn't. I called by direct telephone two days later, and after a long hold, and with difficulty understanding the agent, I was finally informed that the order was ready for collection. On collection, one of the items was not in stock and had been replaced with a less satisfactory alternative. Probably not worth the one star.

Poor, poor customer service from a normally reliable branch/company. Took 7 days to complete a gold service on a bike with customer continually having to chase for updates. Offered £2.40 discount as compensation. Have submitted several requests for resolution but 5 weeks on, no satisfactory response. One star because zero stars is not an available option.

I popped into the store due to wanting to purchase new windscreen wipers. The customer assistant who served me took my details and found the correct wipers for my car. He asked if I needed them fitted too but I could actually fit them myself. I took them home and tried to fit them on myself the drivers side was easy to click into place but my passenger wiper was broken. I went back into the store this morning and explained it was actually faulty and he gave me a new wiper. Again I went home to fit the wiper on but I was actually struggling to clip the wiper on the passenger side. So yet again I went back into the store and spoke to another customer assistant I explained I had trouble with putting the wiper on and asked if he could fit it on for me. He headed out to my car and tried to clip the wiper on but he was struggling himself to clip it on. So he went back into store and got another wiper which actually fitted. The first wiper I was sold was incorrect due to Head office and said he will contact them to rectify it. Great service explained really well regarding the wipers. Will definitely be using this service again. All customers assistants who served me yesterday and today were extremely polite, and helpful.
