   I've been going to Star Nails for a short while. Initially I was charged £10 for a simple manicure and £5 for colour as I took my own halal nail polish. I was polite to the staff as we should and gave £5 tip each time but I think this was taken for a weakness as every other week the price was increased and the effort they put in lessened. Last time went they charged £25, they didn't even oil the nails and left my hands dry and my nails have chipped and peeled less than 24 hours later Do not give tips and show too much kindness as they will take advantage. Zero integrity. Disappointing and this may effect how I interact with others in the future.

   This was my inspo pic and these are the nails Hugo did for me!! The service is so incredibly nice and they’re really attentive with design preferences. He even stayed behind for me, after closing time, to finish my nails off which was so sweet. As you can see the nails look practically identical and i’m happy with how they came out. No complaints!!

   First of all, this shop only takes cash and they have a very little sign at the door that said that they only took cash but they put behind the door so I couldn’t see it while I was walking in and I only saw it when I actually sat down to get my nails done and when I sat down there already started with my nails so I was in a bit of a sticky situation since they wouldn’t even let me leave the shop after I finished my nails to go get some cash (understandable) , so my sister had to come down with some cash for me to pay for my nails Second of all they kept switching between nail techs while I was getting my nails done. third of all while the nail tech was filing my nails, It hurt so bad that I did physically flinch and pull my hand away from him which he didn’t even apologise for. fourth of all, they did manage to get the design that I asked for right but the quality of the tip that they used to do the nails was so thin and flimsy that I broke three nails just from poor application and poor quality. fifth of all, I could not understand what the man who was doing my nails was saying because of his English and he couldn’t understand what i was saying to him so there was a big communication barrier. I paid £40 for that set of nails and the quality of them is atrocious for the price that I paid.

   Very disappointed, first I went in, 4 staff all doing nails, 3 waiting, was told a short wait. I waited 45 minutes, ok I thought, but no, after 45 minutes I went to a seat, and staff 1 cut my nails and stuck on the extension and left, I waited a further 15 minutes for staff member 2, to put acrylic on. Clear!!!!!! Acrylic, not coloured like I requested. I thought ok, make best of it, what can you do at that point, they've already annihilated my nails and stuck extension on them. So acrylic on and a further 25 minutes wait, yes a further 25 minute, because customer who came in just wanting polish made the queue for the last member of staff a long queue. So altogether nearly 2 hours of waiting plus the time taken to do my nails so nearly 3 hour. but told I'm practically next as only 3 waiting for 4 staff when I arrived. I was trying to make best of not having product I wanted, which was coloured acrylic, so thought ok I'll get stickers or silver foil lines, the man started getting quite nasty in his manner. "We don't do sticker" we don't do silver lines. We just do polish. He was all about getting but on seat no customer care at all. Every person ask how long is wait, all persons think when it is their turn, they get their nails done, no, NO!!! you have to wait 3 yes 3 times. Also make sure you fix the exact product they will use. I said I want acrylic and tell them the colour, I did not ask polish. That is a whole different talk, then it would be do you want gel do you want shellac etc. Then for plain set acrylic, no baylage nothing, which is 20 pound in kirkgate (but a stabbing closed all kirkgate) she ask 35 pound. So 3 hours wait, rude staff, wrong(cheap) product and over priced. What was meant to be a treat turned into a disaster. Never again, never ever. They took full advantage of kirkgate being closed, not one pricelist on show etc.

   I asked for a thin tip French manicure. Instead I got trashy, thick, over prices acrylics. Whilst the staff were really nice, they didn’t understand what I wanted at all. Because I showed the first woman what I wanted but I was passed onto three other nail techs. It’s just unprofessional that I had so many different techs and none of them understood what I wanted. I’m quite disappointed
