   My puppy and I had a wonderful experience at Richmond Rascals today! They were so helpful on the phone and agreed to see me for an in person consultation at short notice, before grooming my young havanese. They were beyond helpful; advising me not to clip his fur which made me feel that they really cared about my dog, not about the money! Very rare these days. My dog was really relaxed in their presence and enjoyed a quick ‘tidy up’, they did a wonderful job and gave good advice on how to groom him in the future. We are looking forward to our next visit!

   Robbie and the team at Richmond Rascals were absolutely amazing and did a great job with my Cavapoo. He had some very bad matting on his ears (shame on me!) and they proactively contacted me to agree how to address the problem. They gave me expert and caring advice to make sure grooming would not be too painful for him, the result was amazing and my doggie came out relaxed and beautiful as always. Thank you so much Robbie and team, highly recommended

   Fantastic groomer's all round! I've been taking my dog here for well over a year now and the team is absolutely incredible. They are super hard working, very professional and always take such great care of my dog every time we go. Special shout out to Robbie he's so helpful and caring, I always feel so comfortable leaving my dog with him and the team because I know he's in such great hands. I haven't had the best experience with dog groomer's in the past so finding this team has been a God send! Unfortunately I don't know the other gentleman's name but he cut my dog's hair the last few times and he is insanely talented! BEST DOG GROOMER'S IN TOWN!!! Literally the only place I will ever go to get my dogs hair cut. Thanks a million to Robbie and the team.

   I am hoping this review, now with evidence attached cannot be removed as the one i left on 25 April. Please read - there's evidence of animal abuse in this place and they are getting away with it. My original review: After leaving my little, cheerful, perfectly happy and healthy dog for 2,5 weeks under the care of Richmond rascals boarding service - according to them a better boarding and pet care service than any kennels, what was my surprise when I picked my little one up and realised he has been neglected and mistreated, left starving - he was just bones, knots of hair and had a big swollen/ inflamed wound around his muzzle close to his eyes. When I entered the premises, I caught one of the groomers rapidly trimming without any prior consent his hair to get rid of the evidence of dirt and lack of care, she also told me that the mark on his nose was “dirt” and mud. I was so shocked i asked for the manager, Rhona, who was nowhere to be seen nor localised. The groomer assured me she was not the one to care for the dogs and didn’t know what has happened. In parallel when this was happening, another employee who was cleaning up all the hair left behind from my dog, who saw my distress told me that in fact she believed the dog had been left alone and muzzled up and that she was going to quite this job as it is not a first. I didn’t think twice, picked my dog and took him to the nearest vet located literally round the corner from where Richmond rascals are. The vet confirmed my dog had been severely malnourished and that his wound was not clean and was all crusted blood, that had to be removed and cleaned with antiseptic and antibiotics. Next morning I called Richmond rascals and was attended by a male receptionist and the groomer who handled the dog over, both laughing told me to wait for at least for a day until they could catch up with the manager as they did not know what has happened and she was away. This of course, after me having paid £500 in advance for the boarding service. 15 mins later, the male receptionist called me to tell me on behalf of the owner that 1. The dog had lost weight cuz he was running a lot. 2. The wound in his nose is because he has hit himself against a fence. 3. The owner will be more than happy to refund me the full paid amount as long as I would send an email to Rhona stating I will not take any further action and to promise to stop talking about with anyone. When I asked whether this was blackmailing his literal answer was “I don’t know what your problem is madam, I’m trying to help you, you can get your money this morning as long as you just write that sentence. Then everyone will be happy”. I obviously hung up and reported to the right authorities. I cannot even begin to express how sad and angry and frustrated I fell about this all. To date the owner has not taken any responsibility and we are now with other clients who went through similar experiences raising a petition to get this place closed. Really unfair they claim to be professional carers and let the owners believe their pets are having fun and ok playing and getting all the cuddles in the world, to then arrive to a complete different reality. We hope this place gets investigated, especially as since the petition was getting traction the google reviews have been removed, together with other platforms reviews. They have also removed the boarding services section in their website.

   Richmond Rascals are by far the best doggy daycare establishment I’ve encountered. Firstly, they’re very friendly, and the shop itself is homely and nicely decorated. Secondly, they definitely take care of the dogs entrusted to them very well. I had a dog that was terminally ill, and the days he spent here were amongst the happiest in his life. At times it seemed he would be more excited to go here than go home! I would absolutely recommend Richmond Raacals to anyone.
