The hotel is on a dirty side street overlooking an old mill type building. And at the bottom of a steep hill. There is no reception. The front door was unlocked. we were told that our key was under the matt outside our room. I guess that is how they do things. The stair well smelt like clothing that had been left damp in a washing machine for a few days. When we got into our room we found a range of things that you should not have to put up with in a hotel. Left open when we arrived, one of the windows was unable to closed. The frame appeared damaged. So we just had to leave it open. Resulting in me being cold at night while trying to sleep. The window appeared to be that level of dirty that it had clearly not been cleaned in many months. An electric radiator was hanging off the wall. Evidently damaged previously. It had simply been pushed back into place. And fell back away from the wall at the smallest touch. There was a number of screw plug holes in the walls. Some of them seem to have been stuffed tight with what I can only assume to be damp toilet paper? There were numerous dirty scuff and stain marks on the walls. The bathroom had an ominous large patch of black mould on the ceiling. On closer inspection it appeared to have been painted over a few times. Not that it would solve the problem. The route cause of which I suspect to be a clogged and ineffective extraction fan. For some reason there was also a washing up sponge stuffed into a gap where a drain pipe went into the wall. The curtain rails were hanging lose on one side. The wall paper was pealing off the walls. The tops of the wardrobes were thick with dust. Like no one had ever seen to them in years. The mattress was just about the cheapest one that I think I've ever slept on. The sheets were thin and I honestly dread to think what they look like under UV light. Honestly. The place looked like it was run by tramps. I would not stay here again if you paid me too. The only reason why anyone would want to stay in a dump like this is out of desperation.

The hotel was disgusting and smelly. All of the sheets had stains on them, with the walls also complementing this foul experience. I was scared I’d catch an illness from this place!

Unfortunately very poor condition of room and felt unsafe with door and locking mechanism. Very run down. Left that night to rebook else where. Other reviews appear good. Maybe just a bad room. Wont be booking again. Booked double room was on first floor front facing room. Set out was good floor plan but felt very run down and abused place.

Poor. Very very poor. Didn't receive any instructions on how to get in. Booked a room. Got a completely different one in the adjacent building. Booked for 4 adults. Received a room with a double bed and a single. Where the hell is the 4th adult supposed to sleep? Will be demanding a refund. Absolute piss take.

Booked this place for friends from out of town and they loved the place. It was cheap and cheerful. Lucas I think was the manager an excellent guy who will attend to your every need. A great place with all amenities walking distance as is the city centre. Cant fault this place at all but could do with a hair dryer but apart from that absolutely spot on. You even have access to Netflix too so definitely wont be bored by watching normal telly. Keep it up guys.
