    AVOID DFS — ESPECIALLY THIS STORE AND ITS MANAGER I had an awful experience with both the product and the customer service. The store manager was incredibly rude and dismissive, showing zero professionalism or transparency. I called in to request a repair for my brand new sofa, which arrived with scratches, scuffs, and peeling paint. When I explained how disappointed I was, the manager’s response was: “All genuine leather will be like that.” Really? So, according to DFS, all genuine leather should come with holes, scratches, and visible damage? The sofa was clearly of poor quality, and if this passed their so-called “quality check,” it raises serious concerns about the company overall. Based on other reviews, it’s clear I’m not alone — many people have had similar issues with this manager’s rude attitude. She made it extremely difficult to get a repair arranged. I was told I would receive a follow-up call, but that never happened. It’s incredibly unprofessional to ignore customers after a sale — especially when the product arrives damaged. If you’re spending a significant amount on a sofa, you deserve better products and proper aftercare. DFS clearly fails on both counts. Save yourself the frustration — there are plenty of better furniture companies out there, even on a budget. Don’t waste your time or money here.

    Warranty is ONLY 2 years for external parts of sofa. ie. Cushions and stitching NOT 15 years Went back after 2 years and 2 months and was told (Go away) try the Ombudsman....

    Can't even express how disappointed I am regarding the service we've received. Been 6 days without a sofa due to wrong sofa being delivered in a colour that dosent exist? And despite requesting a callback for update on the 23,24,27,28, no one had the common decacancy to contact us regarding an update. Totally unprofessional!

    As soon as we walked through the front doors we were pounced upon by staff, not even given chance to look around, staff were polite but they need to allow customers to have a look around first. Great choice of furniture but we knew the sofa we wanted as we'd seen it online in the sale but it wasn't in the shop which left us disappointed as we wanted to try in before we bought. We found another sofa that we liked but decided to leave the shop purely on the basis of being pounced on as soon as we walked in the shop. We went to our local DFS store where the staff waited for us to approach them and ordered the sofa from them.

    Such a shame to be giving this poor rating, however it’s a true reflection of how I am feeling right now. I was sold a sofa, and informed the cushions were part of the order, in fact I even upgraded to pay for a patterned pufet which matched the cushions. I went into the store a few weeks later to ask if I could have a sample of the fabric for the cushions as the colour was an unusual orange and wanted to match up my decor. I was told that they didn’t have fabric samples in store but I would be emailed a link so I could order the samples. The link didn’t work, but I managed to work it out myself on the website. Samples arrived and the orange colour seemed brighter, so I went back to store to check only to be told cushions were not ordered and that I’d have to pay extra! Despite, James doing his best to resolve, I was invited to cancel my order (4weeks down the line) as they would not be prepared to cover all the costs as the sales representative claimed she did not inform me they were included. Which I find strange as she even emailed me a link to order the fabric for the cushions? If she knew I didn’t order cushions why would she do that! Such a shame as the sofa in question was lovely, but I’m not prepared to pay for cushions which I was told was included out of principle. If you are buying a sofa from DFS, my recommendation would be to get everything in writing of what is/isn’t included before you leave the store.

    Terrible Service. First of all we walked around for atleast 15 minutes and no one came upto us and see if we needed help so after looking we went next door to SCS, we then went back in DFS because we preferred the options they had. We walked around for a further 10minutes and had to get some assistance ourselves, as the staff were busy sitting down on the sofa talking between themselves. When we finally got a staff to help us, We was looking for a cream coloured sofa and found the perfect cream one but looked at a different sofa for the style. So she proceeded to order us the sofa we wanted in cream, so we looked at the colour samples and they had the exact same cream for the one we was looking at and she said on the back of the sample it says silver but not to worry and gave us her word that it will come as cream cause it said on the back of the sample as code silver. So because she gave us her word we did not question her. So when the delivery of the sofa came it came as SILVER! So I called and got the lady who served us to call back when she was back in work. When she called me she says she don't remember us being there which was only 1month after order and said it was our fault and said that I shouldn't have ordered silver if I wanted cream. So that annoyed me and I said from the beginning of our conversation we told her we needed a cream sofa because we had a golden lab and that she gave us her word her would come cream even that the sample said silver on the back of cream. She then said she can exchange it but we may need to pay for extra charges when it was cleary her fault. Will never use this company again. No wonder there's so many negative reviews for this branch.

    Nicely stocked, with plenty of choice, open space very clean. Staff are very pleasant and very helpful not over pushy with sales. The manager James was outstanding when we had a problem and is running a very good team. Thank you all @ DFS Cardiff.

    It's like we didn't exist. Visited the store on Friday and found the perfect sofa. Before we ordered we thought we'd have a think about it and check a couple other stores just incase. It was an expensive sofa we wanted to make the right decision. We returned again Sunday happy to go through with the sale. We asked the manager if anyone was available to help and asked us to go sit over by the sofa and he'd send someone over. The women came over and took our details and gave us the final price. We were shocked that there was a £99 delivery charge considering we were just about to spend £2600 on sofas. The women said she would give us a minute to think about it, she then went off and left us waiting for 20 minutes. During this time we decided that we would collect the sofa. After waiting for 20 minutes we saw that she was with another customer so we went over to b&q. We returned to the store and she was busy so we walked around and even walked through the manager and 3 members of staff. Instead of asking if we needed help they carried on with their conversations. Overall experience customer service is horrendous. Considering the cost of living there was no movement in any prices or delivery. In the end we went to SCS where we got a lovely sofa and the staff couldn't be more helpful and attending. Even dropped the price to suit our budget more.
