Shaun and his team are a joy to work with. From start to finish they provide the right mix of inspiration, practical advice, excellent product choices, experience and support. We wanted a bespoke kitchen, because of our very specific design ideas.
I met Shaun in March 2023, when he came to give the dilapidated house I was thinking of buying a builder’s once over. We seemed to get on immediately. I was particularly impressed by his willingness to share the work with me. Most builders don’t want their clients joining in the work! I contracted with him to do a big chunk of “major works”: ripping out the old bathroom and putting in a new one; converting a previous window into French doors; putting in all the pipe-work, drainage, etc to make the previous dining room into a kitchen; replacing the lethal gas boiler and all the radiators; partially rewiring the house to bring it up to safety requirements and cater for the new use of the rooms. So, a lot of major and very varied work. I’ve always hankered after a beautiful bathroom and have had several botched efforts to depress me over my years interacting with building trades at various properties. So, I have to say I’m still pretty starry-eyed: full of joy every time I walk into it in the morning. The job turned out to be much more complex than we at first thought, as most of the floor and parts of the joists had to be replaced. This obviously took this part of the project over-budget for Shaun, and I feel he protected me from much of the extra cost. All the work mentioned in paragraph 2 was completed on time and without any major increase in cost over the original quote. All his tradespeople were efficient, polite and friendly, and (as a decidedly elderly single woman) I was glad to always feel in safe hands. Shaun had told me that after the original contracted work was done he would not have much more time to help me out as he had other clients booked in over the summer, but promised to do what he could if free days came up. We have continued to work together over the last few months, as and when he has had free days. And now, a year after buying the house, it is nearly a finished home. Working with Shaun has been an all-round good experience. One of my daughters commented, “I’m surprised you’ve managed to work with a builder for a year without wanting to kill him!” On the contrary, I now consider him a friend.
We have previously used Home Solutions for fitting out a new bedroom and they did such a good job that we choose them to completely renovate our kitchen. Shaun managed the whole project and made the process so easy for us. His team of workers were brilliant, very pleasant, reliable and hard-working. After nearly 18 months of using my kitchen which was designed and supplied by Shaun Davies Home solutions I am still absolutely delighted with it. At my first consultation with Shaun he asked me what colours I liked. I replied I love orange and I also like teal. I didn't imagine for one minute Shaun would come up with an orange and teal kitchen but he did and it is a real WOW for me every time I come downstairs in my recently built open plan house and for everyone who comes to visit. The ergonomics and quality are spot on. Shaun throughout the difficulties that the pandemic caused kept me updated with any supply issues and answered any queries by return, Shaun was incredibly helpful when it came to making choices of items like handles and internal storage etc. I would thoroughly recommend Shaun Davies home solutions especially if you want a bespoke design that is unique. Shaun Davies Home Solutions were contracted to supply and fit a kitchen, including appliances and Silestone worktops. The quality of the products supplied, the level of service and the level of professionalism were excellent.
Shaun offered a free 30-minute consultancy to discuss the intended project. He was knowledgeable, approachable and flexible to work with. After the consultation, he gave a number of "homework" tasks, akin to the creation of a mood board to better understand the style that I, the client, was hoping to achieve. A detailed questionnaire was also completed to ensure all aspects were covered. Shaun kept to his word and returned with a quotation which we deemed to be reasonable given the brief we offered. Unfortunately, we did not proceed due a change in circumstances, but I will definitely seek Shaun's support in future if the opportunity presents itself. Three words: Professional, Knowledgeable, Realistic!
I contacted Shaun following an advertisement that I saw in the Really Useful Directory. Shaun provided us with an excellent service from our initial meeting with him. He was able to design a bathroom that met our requirements and his suggestions and ideas all met with our approval. Everything about Shaun’s design we liked and we are thrilled with the end product. Throughout the entire process, Shaun has been on hand to answer any queries and kept us updated daily with the movements of the contractors. All the contractors involved throughout the process were extremely professional and friendly and provided an excellent service. They were all extremely tidy and even laid down covering on the stair carpet to avoid any damage. I would thoroughly recommend Shaun and his team without reservation.
We chose Shaun Davies Home Solutions in the hope that an independent would provide a better level of service than some of our close friends had recently received from some of the larger more well known companies out there. I'm pleased to say our expectations were more than met. From start to the service we received was thoroughly professional, nothing was too much trouble and Shaun ran the whole project which lasted 7 weeks (as forecast) with military precision and we were kept informed every step of the way. No mean feat I'm sure as we had 2 ensuites created alongside a top to bottom bathroom refurbishment, kitchen/diner knock through with new kitchen and a study/office for my husband and children Great products and a fantastic service.
