During my time with Dr. Jamuna Ganeshalingam from the home crisis team, I felt dismissed and judged at a very vulnerable point in my life. Some of the comments made in meetings left me in tears and worsened my mental state. I did not feel listened to or supported, and the overall attitude made me feel as though my suicidal thoughts were treated as selfish rather than as a health crisis. I hope others in crisis can receive care that is respectful, compassionate, and understanding.

My friend went here for a couple of months in 2023. It’s an unpleasant and inhuman place to be, seeing people in varying stages of complicated and difficult moments has left a lasting and haunting impression on me. From an outside perspective the staff are very strong to be in that environment, to be around so much hurt can be difficult. I feel the staff did all they could for my friend, it was clear they were doing their best with someone who was very smart and could play the system. Some of the things they did though never sat right with me. Like one day he’d not be very well so they wouldn’t let him out unsupervised then the next they allowed him to leave on his own. It just didn’t make sense to me from the outside. But ultimately I think that time there helped him. Unfortunately we lost him last year. We all did everything we could but in the end it wasn’t our decision. I hope everyone who goes here can leave feeling like a better and stronger person who knows they are loved and cherished.

I spent just over a week as an in-patient here and was very well looked after - the staff were marvellous and the food was excellent! I came out feeling a lot better and have continued that way.

Stayed here as a patient in May and June '24. All staff sought a good outcome for me at all times. I told them all I could about my condition, and we worked together on lifestyle choices and medication. The treatment was excellent. Food was decent and the ward was clean. Given the negative factors impacting the NHS I'm very impressed. All staff - nurses, cleaners, HCAs and doctors - they all cared for me. Thank you.

The single and only good thing about this hospital is leaving. As I said before some people never get that far. See previous review.

Not good at all. A TV presenter suffocated himself after a week at st. Michael's. Says it all really

The staff here do an excellent job, they work all hours around the clock helping others for a low wage. I wish more people had this work ethic. People should look up to nhs workers as an example of hard work.
