I have used this surgery for a lot of years, and especially in the last two years have had the need for serious help. This help was thankfully provided by Wolston Surgery. I think the Doctors and nurses, and all the complete staff team are nothing other than exceptional. I would recommend this surgery to anyone who wants the very best. Wolston is lucky to have such a great place. Thank you all.

I recently had a late afternoon telephone appointment with a PA. Due to my hearing issues, my partner joined in the call and was able to explain things better than I could. I needed an extension to a prescription, and am away from home for some time. While he needed to put us on hold for a bit, he came back on the line to say that he would order the prescription to be delivered to my house, which was fine - a friend could collect for me and get it to me. He was very helpful.

I escorted an elderly patient to see her doctor, who has always been very caring and professional. Sadly while in the writing room, what I witnessed was quite the opposite. There seems to be one receptionist in particular, that lets down, the good name of the practice. Listening to how she spoke to some, elderly in particular. She was so rude and intimidating, as if they are invisible and a nucience due to their age and vulnerability. Yes our health system is in a crisis and it's so hard to get an appointment, but this doesn't give and member of reception staff, the right to take it upon herself, to turn away any patient that was obviously ill. She didn't even ask advise from a colleague or consult a doctor. No empathy, manners and definitely no respect. I hope myself, nor, anyone else, has to ever experience this disgusting treatment, in a place you expect to be heard and feel reassured when at your worst.

The Reception staff at this practice are without doubt the most disrespectful and rudest that I have ever come across. My 82 year old mother had chest pain but was confused what to do.She did not call an ambulance because they had failed to turn up on two other occasions due to being overwhelmed by calls for the service. So she decided to call the doctors only to be told that she should ring an ambulance. My mother eventually persuaded the Reception staff to let her see a doctor but she would have to wait due to having no appointments. She was told to come to the practice at 11am.We attended the practice and I approached the receptionist saying I had arrived with mum to wait for the doctor. This poor excuse for a woman started laughing so I had to say its no laughing matter and that mum was poorly but she started to argue that mum had been told to call an ambulance.Three different people heard you on speaker phone saying come down at 11 and if the doctor decides you need an ambulance then one can be called from here. This receptionist is a liar and so is her counterpart from the back office who came to defend her unprofessional collegue. Both of these ladies had made my mother cry on a separate occasion and this was reported to me by a neighbour who was in the waiting room and witnessed the behaviour. My mother is 82 and if you can't show a little compassion to a confused old lady then your both in the wrong profession. My mother was not seen by a professional doctor and was told to call an ambulance by another member of staff after we heard the original pair of misfits collaborating. It goes without saying that I will be changing my elderly mum to a new practice. It should not be down to a receptionist to make decisions on a patients health and care, full stop and no excuses. OUTRAGEOUS BEHAVIOUR!!

We have recently moved to the area and the relief of finally having a surgery that is fit for purpose is massive. We have 2 young boy and my partner has been pregnant whilst at Wolston surgery, so have have a a fair few appointments. All of the staff are first class - from the receptionists to the nurses. The doctors are amazing - friendly, professional and always talk you through everything. Huge thanks to everyone at the surgery.

I was being treated by Dr Woodhouse who is a very good diagnostician. I was waiting for results from a test & Dr Williams rang me to give me the results. When she asked me if there was anything else. I asked for her help. She was on speakerphone as my husband & myself were having lunch in the kitchen. She asked if I had insurance, when I asked her to clarify, she said going to a private doctor would be the wayforward as I had complex problems. Was shocked at this.

On recommendation of my previous Gp myself and my partner joined Wolston surgery. The Doctorβs and nurseβs that we have spoken to have been excellent. Sadly a reception staff member, surprise, was suggesting my partner was rude when actually my partner had suggested she was too. I understand working conditions are difficult (for us all)at the moment but it does not give nhs staff or other the right to stand their ground and continue their bad manners when theyβre upset by someone THEY are saying was rude! My partner did not want a slanging match, but unfortunately was made to feel that the staff member did. After they profusely apologised, sadly the staff did not. Maturity or lack of professionalism either way a disappointment from a surgery staff member.

I really felt the need to write this review. If you are looking for a local surgery then look no further.I have attended this surgery for over twenty years and have never had a bad experience.Recently I have had to visit more than I would normally and each time although only two doctors were on duty I have been able to get an appointment the same day which if you have concerns is such a massive help.Today I phoned to order a repeat prescription to be delivered on Friday just one of several options you have and with-in the hour it had been delivered I am so impressed.I would like to say a big thank-you to all the lovely staff who are extremely helpful at all times even when under immense pressure also thank-you to the doctors who are always very understanding and helpful.I hope this review has been of help to any-one looking to change doctors or is new to the area. Regards Lizzie.
